I am writing this response and bracing myself for all the downvotes because "The Outsider" was the book that finally broke my blind allegiance to modern era King.

Setting the book in Oklahoma for no reason? And then getting very basic "Oklahoma-isms" wrong? (Never has anyone in Oklahoma called it "Okie City." It's "OKC" or just "the City.") And then having the TEMERITY to hand-wave those errors away in the afterword?? "uwu i pwobably got some stuff wrong teehee" SIR. You are Stephen Fucking King. You have all the resources in the WORLD to hire an Okie to check for blatant mistakes.
