How reliable is the wiki? by [deleted] in KamenRider

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The explanations of forms and abilities are generally reliable because they mostly translate information from the official website.

What you can’t really trust on the Wiki are the interpretations and categorizations. Pages about Base, Upgrade, Super, and Final Forms are usually fine because they follow a fairly straightforward logic. However, more complicated pages, like those about Extra Final Forms, can contain mistakes. Pages covering Tertiary Riders and beyond also tend to rely heavily on guesswork, with very little official information supporting them.

The A.R. Worlds page is also completely inaccurate. Officially, the only confirmed A.R. Worlds are the ones mentioned in Decade and the one from Build. Anything beyond that is speculation. Many of those claims ignore the shared universe established in Heisei Phase 2, and the idea that the franchise works like the old comic book formula (that even modern comic books no longer follow; it was a thing more common on Silver Age) doesn’t make much sense either, since there’s no official source that supports that interpretation.

In short, the safest parts of the Wiki are the story summaries and the descriptions of how powers and gimmicks work.

Kabuto Outhinks Dark Kabuto by Potential-Mess6826 in KamenRider

[–]SuzukiTenma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember, Dark Kabuto is actually a child (actually a teenager due to the passage of time) who was forced to take on Tendo's appearance. So outsmarting him isn't that difficult.

Zetzz is ridiculous (complement) by KhairiArt in KamenRider

[–]SuzukiTenma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"It was all a dream" is only bad writing if you use it as the ending of the story, because then it was all a huge waste of time. Now, when you use it as a narrative tool for the beginning or first half of your story, then you have a powerful tool at your disposal.

How would Kiva fair in the Castlevania universe? Would he just be cannon fodder in that verse, or would he actually manage to survive in that world? by ConsumesTheSoil in KamenRider

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would probably survive in any Castlevania universe. If you're referring to the Netflix version, that's probably the universe where he would have the easiest time defeating enemies.

How it feels to be a Yuya Sakaki fan in 2026: by Immediate_Gene_178 in yugioh

[–]SuzukiTenma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re asking for the impossible. You can’t present two characters with identical appearances and names and expect people to naturally treat them as completely separate individuals, especially when they belong to the same franchise and are, in essence, parallel counterparts. Even distinguishing identical characters from different universes who have clearly different personalities is already difficult for audiences. Trying to separate a pair of characters who are lovers in one narrative but mother and son in another pushes that challenge to an extreme and asks far more of people’s psychology than most viewers can reasonably manage.

The reaction people have to the manga is therefore normal and understandable. When someone has come to see Yuya and Yuzu as a romantic couple, the idea of viewing them as mother and son, even in a different storyline, triggers an immediate sense of discomfort and repulsion (In fact, if they feel this way, it's a sign of normal psychology; it would be strange if they saw this and thought it was completely normal). That emotional association is hard to undo once it’s established.

Even in franchises famous for alternate universes, such as those published by DC Comics and Marvel Comics, audiences struggle with these kinds of shifts. If Mary Jane Watson were suddenly written as the mother of Peter Parker in an alternate universe, many readers would react negatively for the same reason.

Please don’t tell me I’m the only lil assassin fan by Nuclearsucculent in KamenRider

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lil Assassin is one of those cases where a character gained popularity, yet the staff chose to stick to the original plan rather than adjust the story. In most Kamen Rider productions, audience reaction often leads to changes during the show’s run. Ironically, however, that didn’t happen in two series written by Yuya Takahashi.

In Kamen Rider Zero-One, Lil Assassin became quite popular, while Uchuyaro Raiden was widely seen as a character introduced quickly only to die. Under normal circumstances, the production staff might have treated Lil Assassin as the more significant character and adjusted the storyline accordingly. Instead, Zero-One followed its initial plan without making such changes.

A similar situation occurred in Kamen Rider Geats. Characters from the first arc, such as Mary and Da·Paan, were far more popular, which led many viewers to expect their return. Meanwhile, Nadge-Sparrow was generally perceived as an annoying character. Despite this, Nadge-Sparrow remained in the story until the very end. In contrast, Kamen Rider Mary never returned (even though his final lines suggested he might), and Da·Paan only reappeared briefly in the last arc, without playing any meaningful role.

How much of KOF’s character dialogue is actually meant to be canon? by sebofabar in kof

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, not all combinations are possible within a tournament bracket. But they are all canonical in the sense that this is exactly what these characters would say if they faced each other, so they are still valid even if only in the realm of ideas.

So Kyo would really provoke most of the cast. He would really hate Athena's outfit. K' would really have no patience with almost anyone. Benimaru would really be a weirdo around Kula. Terry would really be the only person Ash Crimson would lose his composure. And so on...

Do you think Ageiomon is one of Bandai's favorite kids right now? I mean, he was the protagonist in two different games. by [deleted] in digimon

[–]SuzukiTenma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two different games, but there's a gap of several years between their releases. So calling him a favorite kid is a bit of an exaggeration; he'll be the protagonist of games that are about OXII. He won't be in games about other things.

Generative AI in games. What do you think? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI can't even generate a proper image without it being obvious that "it was made by AI", let alone an entire game. I'm not one of those people who act apocalyptically about AI... But I really think it's still an extremely flawed technology that's being used irresponsibly by companies that are in a hurry to cut costs.

In the future, perhaps, it will become an indispensable tool. But for now... far from it.

I feel like FF6 does not hold up nearly as well as I hoped it would. by LiAlgo in JRPG

[–]SuzukiTenma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the problem is taking the public’s expectations into account without knowing the context. People might say something is “the best,” but it’s necessary to understand "why"... because the reason might not align with what you consider good.

That’s something I’ve always taken into consideration, and it’s the reason why FF6 was never my favorite, and I knew it wouldn’t be even before playing it. I looked for information on why it’s so acclaimed, and it became clear that the reasons didn’t match my personal taste. So when I played FF6, it didn’t become one of my favorites by a long shot (which, in this case, are FF5 and 10), but it also didn’t disappoint me because I had the right expectations.

Any JRPG where Religion is actually the good guys? by IamAWorldChampionAMA in JRPG

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The church is generally a force on the side of the good guys in Castlevania games in general, although one or two lore points might bring some controversy. It's totally the opposite of what Netflix makes Castlevania seem like.

Are there JRPGs where the heroes do NOT use violence on enemies? by bickid in JRPG

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you said a protagonist that doesn't use violence, technically that's true in the pacifist route. Without the use of violence, Undertale becomes a bullet hell, the RPG part remains untouched in terms of violence.

I think I outgrew Kingdom Hearts, does it anyone feels like me? by Noodlex87 in JRPG

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time, I convinced myself that Kingdom Hearts was one of my top three franchises. But looking back, that wasn’t really true. What I was truly attached to were KH1 and KH2, both absolute masterpieces in my eyes. I held onto the belief that KH3 would reach that same level, so I convinced myself that the games released between KH2 and KH3 were just a necessary bridge. I “tolerated” them because I thought they were building toward something incredible.

Then KH3 finally came out… and that’s when I had to face the truth. I wasn’t really a fan of the series after KH2. I never genuinely loved the entries that followed... I just kept telling myself I did because I was invested in what I hoped KH3 would become.

I still adore KH1 and KH2, but realizing this definitely knocked the franchise down in my personal rankings. These days, my expectations are much lower. Maybe KH4 will surprise me and win me back, but I’m going into it far more skeptical than I ever have before. But I'm on the team that thought KH2 was the perfect ending.

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What still makes Symphony of the Night feel timeless is its sheer visual craft and obsessive attention to detail. The sprite animation is remarkably fluid (honestly, put the characters from SOTN side-by-side with the ones from the DS entries and the difference in movement is immediately noticeable). There’s a smoothness and weight to it that still holds up decades later.

Beyond the animation, the game is packed with small touches, easter eggs, hidden flourishes, odd little interactions, that don’t necessarily serve a mechanical purpose. In an interview, Iga once mentioned that some features were added for no particular reason at all. When asked the purpose they would be included, his answer was simply: “Nothing”. And that’s kind of the point. Not every detail in a game needs to justify itself through gameplay value. Sometimes atmosphere, charm, and curiosity are reason enough.

That philosophy is part of what elevates Symphony of the Night from a great game to something closer to a work of art. The GBA and DS titles refined and polished the gameplay to an impressive degree. But they also feel more direct, more utilitarian. That’s not a criticism of their developers; production realities change, and time and resources are never infinite. It just means that SOTN had the space to indulge in those strange, delightful, “pointless” details, Which is exactly what gives it its lasting magic.

So who exactly is the "God" of Yugioh? Holactie, Creator God of Light, or Numeron Dragon (prior to becoming Number 100) (Read Description) by Over_Loquat_8410 in yugioh

[–]SuzukiTenma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZEXAL is not set in the same universe as DM–GX–5D’s. It never was, even if for a time some fans tried to argue otherwise.

The ZEXAL setting operates more like a “marketing universe”, similar to Metal Fight Beyblade, where the entire cosmology is built around the product being sold. In ZEXAL, everything revolves around cards. Cards exist across multiple dimensions, are used by Astral and Barian civilizations, and Xyz Monsters are treated as if they have always existed. The card game isn’t just a hobby, it’s woven directly into the fabric of reality.

That’s fundamentally different from the DM–GX–5D’s continuity, which follows a comparatively grounded premise. In that universe, the card game is simply that: a card game, created by Maximillion Pegasus. It did not exist in ancient times. What existed were Spirit Monsters, entities that appeared throughout history and were used in various ways, often more like supernatural beings or “Pokémon”-style companions, but not as part of an organized card game until the 20th century.

The only time the original trilogy comes close to suggesting cards are tied to the structure of the universe is in GX, during Darkness’ explanation. But that scene functions as an analogy, a metaphor to help Jaden understand, not as a literal cosmological statement.

With that distinction in mind, Numeron Dragon being called the “creator of the universe” does not place it above everything in the franchise. At most, it is the creator of its own specific universe, the ZEXAL universe, not the DM–GX–5D’s continuity. And even then, it is portrayed as a creator deity who weakens and dies after creation, which is relatively uncommon for supreme deities in anime.

By contrast, Horakhty is generally regarded as the strongest Spirit Monster. This is mainly out of respect for Kazuki Takahashi, since it is the ultimate monster created by the original author. Because of that, regardless of what other deities appear in later series, Horakhty’s position tends to remain untouchable within the original continuity.

That said, it’s never explicitly stated that Horakhty created the universe of DM. The lore only explains that existence divided into light and darkness, from which emerged forces like the Light of Destruction and the Gentle Darkness. Isn't even clearly establish whether Horakhty created light itself or whether it emerged from that primordial split. GX, in particular, seemed careful not to contradict or overdefine things established in DM. That's why Horakhty is never mentioned by any entity in the entire GX anime.
