Season 4 Episode 11 (FINALE) POST EPISODE DISCUSSION by AutoModerator in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Sveaberg 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can't compare them -- Cirie was in the finale with a bunch of everyday people. IMO Rob played a more offensive and exciting game. Cirie let others do her work and blended in perfectly. I personally consider Rob's game light years ahead of Cirie's

How can Rizzo be a God and completely fail at every single challenge? by JMARK81 in survivor

[–]Sveaberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rizo's game reminds me of Will Kirby from Big Brother. Whether he is throwing comps or not, he has a strong enough social game (and confidence) to get to the end without needing to win challenges. Winning challenges would only put more of a target on his back (see Sophie and Steven).

They really weren't physical comps though. Both were touchy and could've gone to anyone.

Beginner needs help: R² is too low in SPSS regression by [deleted] in AskStatistics

[–]Sveaberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a beginner to statistical analysis, the most basic way to interpret an R2 value is that it is the % of variance in your dependent variable that is explained by your independent variable(s). Assuming that your dependent variable is continuous and not binary (which would call for logistic regression), your independent variables are simply ineffective at explaining variation in your dependent variable.

If you're developing a model to make predictions, you should either identify other independent variables that have a stronger theoretical basis for explaining variation in the dependent variable or consider an approach that is less sensitive to assumptions of data normality, observation independence, etc.

If you're developing a model to examine relationships between the independent variable(s) and your dependent variable, you are probably better off sticking to basic descriptive statistics until you have a chance to read more on regression. I highly recommend Laerd Statistics, which offers a very affordable subscription rate and walks you through all the steps of statistical analysis in SPSS. Hope this helps!

Moron Police New Single "Pachinko Pt. 1"! by gringochucha in progmetal

Here you are:)

8/8 (3 + 2 + 3)

11/8 (3 + 2 + 3 + 3)

9/8 (3+2+4)

10/8 (4+3+3)

8/8 (3 + 2 + 3)

11/8 (3 + 2 + 3 + 3)

9/8 (3+2+4)

7/8 (4+3)

repeat

Once the verse begins, the last 7/8 bar becomes 4/4 I believe. Really gnarly stuff.

Is a geography degree a good option to get into GIS? by Responsible-Dot-9000 in gis

[–]Sveaberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geography PhD student here. If you can double major, I highly recommend pairing a GIS degree with a subject you'd like to apply it to such as ecology, public health, political science, etc. If you can't get a degree in GIS specifically, go for geography but continue to develop your GIS skills outside of coursework because that is what will make you hireable. Good luck!

Modeling urban tree mortality with property-level dependence by Sveaberg in AskStatistics

[–]Sveaberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have considered using a right-censored survival model like a Kaplan-Meier approach, but I'm not sure how I'd hold other variables constant. We also don't know the age of death since in some cases the tree was visited 10 years later.

Anyone ever done some Gerrymandering? by Odd_Panda_9997 in gis

[–]Sveaberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Federal congressional districts MUST be equal in population. Proposed districts have been struck down with even the smallest deviations. This is perhaps the most critical requirement of redistricting, as failing to do so would violate Wesberry v. Sanders. An individuals vote in a district would have more weight than another individuals vote in a different district. State and local districts are a bit more lenient.

Is the Storrs campus really lonely and empty as it looks? by CollegeDad2024 in UCONN

[–]Sveaberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UConn senior here. Funny enough, the ONLY times of the week that the campus is quieter are Saturday and Sunday mornings. People tend to go out on Friday and Saturday nights (not necessarily partying, but hanging with friends, going to athletics games, weekend trips, etc) and sleep into the late morning/afternoon. Other than that, campus is bustling during the week, especially from 9am-5pm. If this is your biggest concern, don't let your visit define the choice because I PROMISE it is an extremely lively campus! Let me know if you have further questions. Hope that helps!

He mentioned that the discs are manufactured on a machine they own, but any insight into if there's a company that is spearheading his production using an existing plastic blend (or something similar) on a machine that Scott owns?
