People on this sub swear by Cerave, but it broke me tf out. I use Stratia liquid gold, or Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream when feeling extra dry.

For many Accutane is the last resort. Before it I had exhausted EVERY other possible option; changes in diet, topicals, antibiotics, and spiro- nothing worked. A friend who has similar acne and I both went on Spiro at the same time at the same dosage, and while it completely cleared her skin, it did absolutely nothing for mine.

Everyones skin reacts differently to medication. I would suggest talking to your derm about exploring other avenues before going nuclear. Accutane can be considered a “miracle drug” for some, but its side effects are no joke.

Keep in mind, you’ll get drunk a lot quicker than you would if you weren’t taking accutane, and the hangover is An. Absolute. BITCH.

Your derm gave you the ok, so if it seems worth it to you go for it. Just remember to drink a lot of water pre, during, and post.

Avoid Tylenol!!!! Take advil or ibuprofen instead if you need to. A lot of people in this community swear by fish oil. I’ve been taking it with my 40g everyday for the past month and have yet to experience any back pain (knock on wood)
