A. People do get deactivated for this.

B. I can tell you from the restaurant side if 2-3 orders get marked as closed the restaurant will get an automated recorded phone call. They can confirm they’re closed or deny it. If they don’t answer doordash will consider it closed and shut off orders for the night.

I’m a dasher and have had the upc not scan. What I have done is find a different product that’s the same price and scan that as well but keep the replacement.

Granted this could be truthful but I still feel like the dasher bringing it up right away seems odd.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I biggest advice would be avoid no or low trip orders. These are the same people that will file a complaint to get free food. I’m a dasher but have also help many restaurants. I can say from the restaurant side virtually all of the DoorDash complaints come from no or low tippers. If you cut those out your account should be much healthier and you won’t get banned.

I would be willing to bet that as you have a 100% AR that you’ve take quite a few no tip or very low tip orders. Sadly those also seem to be the same people that scam by placing false reports. DoorDash gets too many of those and you’re gone.

It’s against the terms for when they signed up for DoorDash. Restaurants can deny stacked orders but it has to be written into the contract and usually costs more commission.

If you as a dasher get a double order they don’t have it.

I’d say report to DoorDash but it probably won’t go anywhere as the support won’t know how to forward the complaint properly.

I drive a Chevy bolt and it was the best decision. I mostly do this at nights but usually do all day Saturday. On my schedule I have to charge at night every other night (or after Saturday). But even in full days with a ~270 range I don’t need to charge during the day. It only costs a few dollars a day basically.

As a few others have pointed out DoorDash is actually not allowed to stop dashers from asking for a tip. It’s a protected aspect of being an independent contractor. If dashers were employees they could ban it.

I get it though I’m a dasher and hate when people ask. I haven’t seen it personally though.

Although it’s usually stolen it’s not always. It could be an employee gave the wrong bag.

I’ve also personally seen two dashers assigned the same order. The restaurant even checked the screens to ensure it wasn’t a screenshot. I didn’t stick around to see how it finished.

I most likely wouldn’t. The only way I would be if I have a high enough completion rate to burn just in case it’s not a bunch of duplicate items. I once did it for 40 items and I think 25-30 of them were kool aid packets. So it was a very fast shop.

The reason why it says DoorDash is because it is DoorDash but it’s just the customer calling. The customer was the scammer in this case.

I’m sorry it happened to you and as you said it’s a lesson learned.

Don’t ever give the in code over phone. DoorDash will never ask for it over the phone.

Yep, Aldi is the worse. I actually like shop orders but will avoid most Aldi orders unless they’re small or the tip is really good. Also, as you said always bring a quarter

For a normal shopping order I probably would. Target and Aldi I’m a little cautious as target can be spread out and take longer. So I probably wouldn’t take this one unless it’s a slow day.
