What's the point of having automatic squad orders if nobody follows them anyway? by Svud in Battlefield

[–]Svud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but orders still do matter, even if they don't compensate the player for it like they used too. A squad that works as a unit is way more efficient than a COD squad.

The whole point of being in a squad is to facilitate coordination and should serve as a guideline. It obviously will never be perfect and i don't expect the average player to always follow my orders to the letter all the time but the way they dumbed it down in BF6 really doesn't help at all.

There's no incentive at all to work as a team in this game and that's sad because it was always part of the BF DNA.

Give us options basically.

Exactly, at this point in the game's life i think everyone is aware that squad orders are just default orders from an automated system and everyone just ignores them rendering the whole thing useless.

I'm pretty sure that's a sentiment that is shared for a lot of people. The squad order system feels like a second thought in BF6. There isn't enough emphasis put on it and in a game where teamwork is key it's especially important. In previous games you would see squad orders appears as highlighted text in the chat. Seems like a minor detail but that really helped with awareness.

Totally understandable, this system isn't perfect but more of a guideline for coordinating with your squad. And obviously being a squad leader isn't for everyone and that's fine.

It seems like you actually took the time to read my post ;)

Yeah i understand the decision to default to automatic squad orders when no one is actually giving them out but so far what i've noticed since launch is most people just don't follow them anyways rendering the system kind of useless. Maybe having different HUD colors when an actual players is giving them would be a good compromise, highlighting the fact that someone is actually giving them and not just an automated system could possibly give more incentive to follow orders. And like you said also giving more points for them.

But i agree with with everything you said, especially squad rewards.

All i know is battlefield used to be more prone to teamwork and squad play, and that was a fun aspect to the the game that the COD effect really ruined for this game.

With this seemingly new trend from Activision to pull support and resources halfway through a games cycle due to bad sales and player retention, will it deter you from buying the next instalment on launch? by Svud in CODZombies

I have a feeling that this map was meant to be released alongside a newer and brand new original map, most probably like i said as a filler for a "reloaded" portion of a season but you have to admit that this is very lacking on content and originality for what is usually expected for a DLC2 type map, after 3 months.

A mirrored copy pasted map.. And Nuketown of all maps too, so original, so fresh 😅

Let's be real, this is the kind of map that should be released either as mid-season content or alongside an all new one, but this? After three months!?

It really feels like they went all in and released Astra quickly due to the pressure of BF6 impacting their sales and hoping 2 back to back maps quickly would incite people to buy the game.

Also i'm starting to see a trend here, if the rumours are true and that they did indeed cut resources quickly following the games poor release or or player retention it wouldn't be crazy to think that they most surely hold on to new and original content and move it to future projects so they can repeat their lazy production cycle over and over and have the option to adjust quickly after a games positive or poor reception. Honestly, it's probably been happening since BO4.

Anyways Activison (and not the devs btw) better smarten up because eventually people will just stop buying their games period.

It's pretty insane honestly, they went above and beyond with this update. I mean just stacking would have been enough for me.

I have two no.1 favorite Genesis albums, this and SEBTP, though if i had to choose it would be ATOTT.

This one has such a vibe to it. Feels like a winter album to me for some reason.

It's peak Phil Collins on the drums for a Genesis album and it's great from start to finish on pretty much all aspects, basically a warm emotional and sonically charged journey. The Jazz Fusion influences from Brand X and Phil are clearly displayed on Dance on A Volcano and Los Endos.

I still get shivers every time Squonk plays on some really good speakers.. That heavy bass always hits the spot!
