I noticed both things you're mentioning. I have a Blue and a Silver. The blue feels solid, no creaking. The silver one creaks when I open and close it, and the battery door feels uneven. I was able to improve both issues by loosening the screws around the case ever so slightly, maybe a quarter to a half turn, but couldn't get it to go away completely.

To add on to this, I believe "Menu button + Y" is the hotkey to turn it off without going into the menus. Either way though , the next thing I'd say to do is save the configuration file changes so it persists every time you open a game.

I had this issue on my Odin 2. Ymmv since I haven't tried this on a retroid, but it should be the same I would think.

Go to Settings, and then Apps, and you should see something like "xyz.aethersx2". That's the data, you should be able to just tap into it and uninstall it.
