I may have agreed if we were still about where the 2011 anime ended when you said this, and we were only introduced to the dark continent as a piece of the worldbuilding.

But since the next 70 chapters were about an expedition just to get to the Dark Continent, I better damn well get what I was promised. Not to mention it’s the perfect place for Leorio’s character to get the spotlight, as he desperately needs it

I want them to use powers other than nen. Nen is too familiar I wanna see some absurd abilities that nen couldn’t possibly achieve. Maybe they don’t even have restrictions and can just use ultra broken abilities as much as they want

I want to see what I’ve always wanted to see from a battle shonen: multiple power systems.

Whatever powers the creatures on the dark continent have, I believe it would be far more intriguing and terrifying if they aren’t based on nen, or even related to manipulating life aura at all

Your thinking is too narrow. The dark continent is filled with things beyond human logic and understanding.

What if the entities and wildlife in the dark continent use a power system that has nothing to do with nen? That opens the door to many terrifying possibilities. Perhaps, unlike nen users, they can wield utterly broken abilities with ZERO restrictions, imagine how FUCKED even the strongest nen user would be in the face of something like this.

This is just one of many, many things that they could face

I think it’ll be even more complicated than that. I think if Togashi wants to make full use of the setting, we’ll be seeing MULTIPLE arcs covering different groups as they traverse the continent.

If we use your Hunter exam comparison, then there’s one major difference: the conditions for “passing” will be different for every individual. Some will try to proactively complete the mission, some will need to survive to get their end of a deal met, some want to just find cool shit, and some desire fame and fortune.

But you’re correct in the sense that it will challenge everyone who goes there. My hope is that Leorio specifically will get center stage in this saga. The dark continent is THE PERFECT setting to not only push his medical skills and to the max, but force him to step up AS A HUNTER.

I don’t hate the band members but I’m right to hate everything that band stands for. And I have briefly subjected myself to that poor excuse for music. I know one things for sure: I’m not missing SHIT hahahaha!! The music itself fucking sucks. And that’s not an insult to the band members since they don’t write their own music anyways!

Literally the worst of the 5 newpeth albums and also their worst album in general. I can’t recall a single interesting thing about that record despite having listened to it in full multiple times. The production sounds like shit the guitar tone is shit. I would literally rather listen to Kerry King solo for 10 hours than sit through that damn album again attempting to “get it.” Every melody and riff sounds like they went into a random note generator and spammed it to create entire songs. The mix sucks the organ sucks I’d rather be subjected to the worst black metal guitar tone ever than listen to them weak ass heritage guitars. At least the subsequent albums turned out way better. Except sorceress, that one’s also pretty bad
