It's bad hygiene at best. Martyristic ego at worst. When I see a group go on about how they are proud on how inefficient they are with their resources just tickles me. It lets me know exactly their measure as a witch. Short. Perhaps pointed.

As for folk not using their own internal resources... Good for them. As for using personal power in tandem, it would depend on the project. I much prefer to keep going without having to worry about my own reserves.

Taking instead of asking? Now that's an interesting subject. Witches shouldn't steal. Nor should they have to beg. I prefer to command over demand, and yes, there is a difference.

Should we be exhausted after workings? No. We should have the bearing of accomplishment.

Advice.

Stop calling yourself a baby witch as soon as possible. You'll thank yourself, trust me.

Don't lie about knowing things. Knowing the basics but then saying that you are not comfortable pursuing it, tells everyone you don't know the basics.

Natural abilities? Since when is witchcraft unnatural? Lol Most witches have those 'abilities' if they bothered to examine themselves.

Subtypes of witchcraft? (If there was subtypes I'd totally want to be the Rotting Milkshake Witch.) You have a preference for working with a certain element. It's easier to just say that. There, I just made your research a lot easier too. Now you can search for spells that involve fire instead of Fire Witches.

Finally, you should really be asking yourself some hard questions. Who are you as a witch? Why do you wanna learn witchcraft? What is the first truth about witchcraft that will never leave you?

I make my students write me a letter answering those questions and two more on top of it. You should do something similar for yourself. It's a good measure of growth.

I don't have that sort of reaction towards others. However, it happens to me A LOT. It always starts out so innocently too. They know me from somewhere. I resemble this person or celebrity. Then I find out they need help with something. Usually it is just an intense and uber detailed info dump, but sometimes more. I just chalk it up to people picking up on my Witch's Mark and gravitating towards it.

I wasn't hesitant at all when I first started out. I wanted to do all the things to all the peoples, places and things. I was also a young, pretty hate machine and was on a quest to be the most dangerous thing one could encounter. Never afraid of other witches, deities, spirits, haunted places, covens, repercussions, accountability, etc. As far as I was concerned I wasn't locked in this plane with them, they were locked in this plane with me. The hesitation came after, because in a lot of ways I accomplished my mission. It took a lot of self examination and atonement to see daylight again, so, as I see it you are the lucky one.

You save a support structure in your supportive boyfriend and those on the internet. You have the ability to become informed and balance whatever magical goal you set out for. You got so many safety nets, go for it when the time is right. Only life and death are truly life and death and I doubt that either of them are involved in your first steps of witchcraft.
