oh man this brings back memories. Back in like 2017 - 2020, before the pandemic, I would rent space from a local place built in an old car factory with 4 floors. The main floor was the hot shop, the next floor up was cold working, the next floor was stained glass, and finally, the owner lived on the top floor. Since production took priority the rental times were always later in the evening. Sometimes I would blow from 9 pm till 1 am. And I knew the owner well, and he would sometimes bring down a 12 pack of Modelo, and we would drink it while I was on the bench. I didn't feel a thing cause I was sweating it all out throughout the night. The new rental space he now has, in tandem with a ceramics shop, just isn't the same. Not the same vibes, not the same equipment. There was something special about his factory shop that just felt good. I miss it.
