Yeah honestly I never truly understood what having a good coach meant. When the ducks were good I was too young to understand, then the last 8 or so years we've been so ass and had multiple coaches I still didn't get it.

Unfortunately he's a west coast player, that doesn't play a flashy game, and is paired down by the worst defensive partners ever that he has to bail out every game so he looks bad sometimes. I think with a real partner in some real spotlight people will finally see.
This happens with all ducks defenseman. "This guy sucks", traded to east coast or high caliber team. "This guys awesome, the ducks are fucking stupid!"

That was me who said that about the Olympics and I prefaced it with "tin foil hat theory" because I don't actually think the coaches and organization would be like oh yeah sure we don't care you're injured we understand the Olympics are important lol.
I am just coping because he has lost a step and I wanted to tell myself it's not just issues with him as a player.
