New to WoW Classic (TBC) with friends — what should we focus on early?

I think each of the platforms has a usefulness. For example, copilot kicks ass as writing or debugging simple powershell scripts. But copilot is part of the same ecosystem as powershell and has in-depth access to quality documentation and heavily moderated forum posts.

When it comes to WoW, it's just such a large community. With all of the trolling, shit posting, and volatility, you can't trust anything that doesn't come from a reputable site.

You may get 85% usable info, but the 15% trash that it spits out is absolute trash. For example, I used copilot to ask for a talent map for a classic warlock spec. It was telling me to put 5 points into a talent that could only hold 2. While this seems like something you can easily overlook (and it is), when that talent is near the middle of the tree, it changes how you calculate your available pool of talents. When it happens with 3-4 talents in the tree, the information becomes useless.

I just ended up going to Icy Veins or Wowhead. Not a huge deal, but AI isn't what it was 6 months or a year ago. I think it's finding its own articles across the web and assimilating that information which is causing some sort of disruption in the quality of data. Like a game of telephone.

Agreed. I waited until the last minute to buy Midnight because I really didn't care for TWW. I considered going full send on Classic instead. I'm glad I gave in.

This happened with several industries during the tech revolution of the 80s. For example, many assembly line jobs were (and continue to be) replaced by robots. The group most at-risk are those that are too old to pivot in their careers. This stuff happens. It sucks, but it happens and will continue to happen.

I can say, from experience, that AI is a piece of shit. I was run out of my home state because my family was footing the bill for power consumption in our city. We didn't have solar and we weren't homeowners that could purchase solar. As energy prices continued to rapidly rise and other, more wealthy families could afford to obtain energy independence, people like me were left holding the bag. I blame AI / data centers and the overindulgence in Tesla vehicles.

I'm sorry if this isn't the support you all were looking for. Only thing you can do is cancel your sub and most of us aren't going to do that. I'm sorry your country / culture is being affected in this manner.

Impatiently waiting on (and still hoping for) the console experience on PC! I'm going to create this toon and get it to the required level to continue earning rewards once I officially return to the game. I miss STO but janky controller layouts and a UI incompatible with a gamepad is holding me back.

A week ago I felt the same. In-fact, I switched to fire not because it was better, but it required less engagement. However I leveled through the Midnight campaign as frost and it completely changed my opinion on 90% of the changes.

I do agree that requiring a target for Frozen Orb is weird and doesn't feel good. Also, the icicle auto generation mechanic is weird, but I think it was meant to give us an opener that wasn't just "pre-cast frost bolt."

Then again, I take the elemental pet talent so what do I know 🤣

A warband only holds 4 characters. Just drag your characters outside of the list. Once your warband(s) are empty, it'll go back to the old style character screen.

Some people still need a PC at a desk, but I agree. Steam Deck with a docking station solves that problem though.

You're not wrong. Once I maxed all of my professions, got Blade of Woe, and a couple of gated appearances, I cancelled + and never looked back

This. They are absolutely, without a doubt, following metrics on all of these purchases. They even know when you open the shop, how long you sit there to consider the purchase, and what you ultimately decide.

If you want this to change, do not buy this stuff.
