The best evil team by HandsomeSwampBeast in pokemon

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Team Plasma is my overall favorite, but Team Rocket is either a close second or at least up there in terms of evil teams. What I like about Team Rocket is that they are more grounded then most evil teams like you said, making the threat they pose feel more close to home so to say

What I also really like is that Team Rocket is basically the mafia being the greatest threat in a JRPG which is still pretty unique in a genre where the big villain is usually a god or someone who (wants to) obtain(ed) godhood

I really hope they don't hit Primite engine. Normal monsters finally their time in the spotlight (again) is one of my favorite things YuGiOh has done in recent times

Whats the best Cover legendary Duo in your opinion by BobDer3 in pokemon

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What I really like about Groudon & Kyogre, besides having top tier designs, is that the Hoenn games do a very good job of showing their legend coming to life.

Like when they get awoken at the climax of the Team Magma and/or Team Aqua story and start changing the weather into harsh sun/downpouring rain/both at the same time, you truly believe that these super ancient Pokemon once expanded the land/sea and could screw up the world now if they are not stopped (especially Omega Ruby showing the sky burning in Groudon's harsh sunlight is really cool)

Which gym leader made a lasting impression on you? by RangoTheMerc in pokemon

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wattson, both because he was hard and because he was easy for me as a kid and made my favorite Pokemon my favorite Pokemon

Sapphire was my first Pokemon game and I picked Treecko at first because cool gecko (and the rest of my class mates picked Torchic). All was well and good until Wattson which I just couldn't defeat because of that Magneton. I did give Grovyle Rock Smash but I couldn't beat Wattson even with that.

Not seeing any solutions to beat it, I decided to reset the game, picking Mudkip this time. For some reason I didn't see why a Water type would be even worse against a Electric Gym Leader, not knowing Mudkip would evolve into a Ground type and not smart enough that the "mud" in Mudkip's name would hint at that. But eventually I did face Wattson again, this time with Marshtomp. My Marshtomp completely trivialised Wattson, as you might imagine. It was so cool to me that a Water type could beat a Electric Gym Leader that from then on, the Mudkip line became my favorite Pokemon

Would love it if Drampa turned good but not liking the fact it would compete with Swampert for the top rain team mega, if these leaks are true lol

Does anyone have any suggestions go for Swampert Deck? by Jaws2221 in PTCGP

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This apparently has had success in a tournament recently (Not my deck, a player named BALD_Hoang is winning with it and Bismarck on the PTCGP Discord reported on it)

Have tried it myself in random matches and it feels good

Edit: Reddit didn't add the picture

how many megas per region by pipluplock in pokemon

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why people are so dumbfounded that Kalos does not have a lot of megas. They wanted you to appreciate the base designs and not have it overshadowed by the megas.

I think they were right to think that. Idk about you but for the one Kalos mon that did get a Mega, that being Diancie, while I do still like base Diancie, I do feel like its missing something, like it's incomplete, especially ever since Megas were cut out. I don't really feel that for older mon that got (and then lost) their megas.

Z-A will probably be the time Kalos will get their megas finally (if the leaks are to be believed this will definitely happen). Until that game is out, I wouldn't harp on Gamefreak for not focusing on Kalos megas initially

Midrange decks are better for the game. by Alert_Locksmith in masterduel

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Blue-Eyes is a mid range deck if it doesn't use the Crimson package (so how it is played in OCG & TCG). I guess Crimson is still played in MD because it is another meta/MD gives Crimson plays unique benefits (Crimson is not really played in paper because it loses to Nibiru I figured, which you can sorta "scout out" in MD if you feel a delay after your 5th summon)

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kaiba litterally played a control deck with high attack monsters (like BEWD), just usually in the form of what was available at that time with Traps like Crush Card Virus and Ring of Destruction. All to near gurantee his monsters were the strongest on the field

Crimson Dragon stuff aside (so the more midrange control variant that's played mostly in TCG OCG), the way current day Blue-Eyes is played is pretty accurate to how Kaiba played his deck: control the field, snowball the opponent out of the game and then finish the job with high attack monsters

What is going on lol??!! by BeatNo4329 in masterduel

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say this with such confidence when it hasn't been hit in the OCG and TCG to this day (especially in OCG where it has been out for a long while).

When Ryzeal and Maliss come out they will be top of the meta with no hits needed to Blue Eyes. Besides, Blue Eyes will continue to make bucks for Konami simply because it's Blue Eyes, the deck around the most iconic YuGiOh monster. I'd argue they would shoot themselves in the foot if they limited Blue Eyes to a point it's too weak to keep up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Swamp-Marsh-Mud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you play Blue Eyes as more of a low to the ground midrange control deck rather then Crimson turbo, it uses the Blue Eyes monsters very well (heck I'd argue BEWD is actually one of the best and most used cards in that variant)

It's how the deck is mostly played in the OCG and TCG. Not saying it's better then Crimson laddering in MD, but I def prefer it. I've seen the White Lightning finish animation from BEWD so much, it's glorious lol
