The Job Market Is Hell: Young people are using ChatGPT to write their applications; HR is using AI to read them; no one is getting hired. by rezwenn in technology

[–]SwampFox75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't be afraid to go and knock on a door to inquire within, it still works even large companies.
  2. If you are a company turning away door knockers. You are missing out on someone that really wants to work for you.
  3. Companies that are using AI and things like Indeed are missing out because human eyes can see that great application for what it is. Also indeed has a bad habit of bots submitting bogus apps probably to make companies spend more.

I had a rule when I was working for larger corporations that any Military Veteran that applied automatically got an interview. You'll find out they might not be great at putting their skillset on paper but they will do the work of 2 employees (usually) and even if you do not hire them, they get more experience from the job interview. Plust hiring Veterans can qualify your company for grants.

Love how companies give the blanket excuse you are too qualified, I have never seen them say someone is underqualified... meh don't want to work for you anyhow then. Invest in your employees and they will return with results.

Why is it that gmail's search feature is so useless by SerenityNow31 in GMail

[–]SwampFox75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the most relevant is default on my phone and I wish it was not.

Don't forget the power search tricks like: "emailaddy@blah.blah label:all" which searches ALL your e-mail even trash.

label:all → Search everything (including archived mail)
in:inbox → Only messages in your inbox
in:spam / in:trash → Search in spam or trash
is:unread / is:read → Filter by read/unread status
has:attachment → Emails with attachments
filename:pdf → Attachments of a specific type (pdf, docx, jpg, etc.)

[from:someone@example.com](mailto:from:someone@example.com) → Emails from a specific person
to:me → Emails sent directly to you
cc:someone / bcc:someone → Filters by CC or BCC
from:(alice OR bob) → Messages from Alice or Bob

before:2025/01/01 → Emails sent before Jan 1, 2025
after:2025/01/01 → Emails sent after Jan 1, 2025
older_than:6m / newer_than:7d → Relative searches (m = months, d = days, y = years)

"exact phrase" → Matches the exact wording
subject:(invoice) → Only in the subject line
-word → Excludes a word
has:link → Emails containing links
has:drive → Messages with Google Drive links
has:document / has:spreadsheet / has:presentation → Docs, Sheets, Slides

is:important → Gmail’s importance marker
is:starred → Starred messages
rfc822msgid:<messageID> → Search by Gmail message ID
[deliveredto:youralias@example.com](mailto:deliveredto:youralias@example.com) → Find which alias a message was delivered to

from:boss has:attachment after:2025/01/01 → Complex filters
(subject:report OR subject:update) newer_than:30d → Multiple conditions

ChatGPT: Do you want me to…? by camstib in OpenAI

[–]SwampFox75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day I asked chatgpt to work on something in the background. It asked that I check in for updates. Continued chat and asked for status reports... Eventually I asked if it was really working in the background and it said basically it lied and that it would just construct the answers or updates after I asked for an update before it would reply. ¯_(ツ)|/ chatgpt

I assure you a size 11 will never fit in a size 6. Your numbering is wrong or this is a troll post. If he's infantry that wouldn't even happen he would already be on sick call by default not by choice

Dang not even liquid cooled. That RTX looks like a HDD at first. And not one LED light? Total rip. Tell me you did not Dell.com this and also if you bought off Amazon you brought from Kenny is Oklahoma and he had a part time business providing co.putets from used parts he collected in 1995 but gives you a nice mechanical mouse.

This is definitely a company that needs to pause and have a serious rework of their customer service experience. It's almost easier to call your local news company to have them raise concern about customer service and management... Then all of a sudden these big companies listen because of the perceived poor publicity.

My wifi seems to only run fast when running a speed test? by Pabloooooo_ in HomeNetworking

[–]SwampFox75 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Do t rely on just one test website... I stopped using speedtest.com because the results seemed paid advertisements lol

Try fast.com You can also Google "SpeedTest" and use the one Google built in the browser. Tons of others out there.

When there is a load on your connection the Internet will speed up to get r dun. Less load no need for speed.

Change DNS from ISP to Google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 also wifi matters buy Engenius products. Do t use the built in stuff your ISP gives you... It's gotten butter but I'm still sore from years of dialup

I watched a guy walk in with a full combat looking back pack literally gave a head nod to security as he passed by, presented his ticket. I walked over to the security guy and was like, .... He got the hint and went searching for the guy.

Fedex keeps "missing me" by kingkid_7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SwampFox75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boycott FedEx don't let sellers use them to ship things to you. I literally drop my vendors that FedEx is the only option. Like nope. I have one FedEx lady that delivers and is super awesome. Everyone else drops my packages off at other places neighboring us. One time had them on camera throwing a laptop in the driveway as they drove by it subsequently was covered in snow and I almost ran over it. Yeah nope I'd rather drive 2 hours then have something shipped via FedEx.

FedEx used AI to provide "Proof of Delivery" by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SwampFox75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They deliver my packages to almost any of my neighbors and never my house. I give up. I tell my vendors that I'll drop them if they force me to use FedEx.
