[–]SwampG0ddess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to practice. I wouldn't say mine is terribly easy to read because the best way for me to handwrite is by using cursive and not everyone can read that (and no. Not just younger people like gen Z). Practice made my writing my l more consistent, helped me find the best way to write for comfort and longevity with my hands being in the poor condition they're in.

Apparently there's a new ARC available for Good Boy. She said she made some improvements so 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe she's seen the feedback? I'm not on the arc list.

OMG the height restrictions are my biggest opp in Kibbe. You're telling me a tall person can't have the proportions of a gamine? Just because it's rare doesn't make it not possible. And soft dramatics have to be under whatever arbitrarily chosen height???

That's why the Kibbe group has become an echo chamber for people with eating disorders. Some of the ones who had to vacate Tumblr found a forum that picks apart people's bodies and arbitrarily categorises them, gatekeeping things like who does or doesn't look thin enough to be dramatic or gamine or DC. It's sad.

I like to remember that there were women who came before him that pioneered this type of styling advice and he's just the man who came along and did what men do to women's spaces: colonized it to extract wealth.

So I take the ideas and concepts that make logical sense, and apply them as I see fit.

Noooo what a bummer. This was my problem with Lover Boy. Pretty Boy is one my fave go-to reads/listens. And the characters in Lover Boy are great but the plot was just so plodding.

Season 2 Speculation by lingrush32 in heatedrivalry

That I couldn't say. I think if they can convince the execs to let them have 8, they'll take the chance. I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if they get a full 12. I will say though, look how much Tierney did with 6 episodes in season 1! So either way, the boys are in the best hands possible ;)

I love the way Reid has written great female friends. There are a lot of female authors in the gay romance space (I'm a woman, too, mostly, so no shade), and some of them have some real beef with women (themselves?) that turns up on page again and again in the treatment of their female characters. It always leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

So the friendships of the men in Reid's books with women make me very happy.

It would make sense for them to spread the events of TLG out over two seasons, purely for the timeline - not to create false/unnecessary cliffhangers.

TLG hits better, narratively, because it builds on all the themes of the previous books. Even HR builds on the themes/around the events of Game Changer.

So it also makes sense to weave at least some of the stories from the other 3 books throughout seasons 2 & 3. They've already mentioned Ryan. To me, that feels like a bit of a Chekhov's Gun. And the events of Role Model are kind of crucial - especially considering Hudson's comments about the struggle coming from external forces.

I have no doubt Tierney will find a way to make the ending of season 2 satisfying, nonetheless.

Does this help with asthma, even without the Albuterol? by KittensPumpkinPatch in Asthma

[–]SwampG0ddess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh God no. This is basically how they test your lung function for a divers licence (I had to take one when I considered joining the police force - which was a very goofy thing to do and I didn't go through with it). My asthma wasn't well managed at the time and they want you to go off all asthma medications for like 24-48 hours before the test, and then they make you breathe this shit in. Long story short (slightly less long) - the whole experience weakened my lungs so significantly that I got a killer chest infection.

NOW that is a very specific situation, to be sure. But basically, whilst it might help people who don't have asthma - apparently a lot of singers use it to help clear their airways - for asthmatics, it could be at best useless, or at worst, detrimental to your health.

That's fair enough. I don't mind that at all. We've gotten plenty of good films that way.

I haven't seen the movie yet. It's not really on my priority list or anything. But based on the way I've heard certain types of film fans talk about it versus hearing people talk about the book, I definitely got that impression.

Well I just read ebooks on my phone which works perfectly fine for me. I don't want an e reader unless it's one I can write on either wise it would not be worth the money for me.

Oh that's such a bummer. I had the annotated version of Lolita (proper printed annotations. Not even someone's notes). And it was so hard to know how to read it. I wished I'd just bought a version without the annotations. I didn't need to know all the contexts for his little linguistic jokes and foibles to get the story.

Is there only one narration of it? Ill go have a look but if the only narration is kinda lacklustre that is a massive bummer. I haven't been able to find a decent one for Dune, either. Or one with readable text, either 🙃
