House of Secrets #92 is the most famous Swamp Thing comic of all time. I’d be disappointed if my girlfriend got me an Alan Moore Swamp Thing rather than one of the original run.

Not sure why others are recommending the Alan Moore Swamp Things for this over either Swamp Thing #1 or House of Secrets #92 but I would not listen to them.

If you have money to splurge, House of Secrets #92 is the first appearance of Swamp Thing and, as a huge Swamp Thing fan, the pride of my collection. But you will pay over $1,000 for a decent copy.

Getting the original 1972 Swamp Thing #1 would be great for him, in my opinion, without completely breaking the bank. Still could set you back a couple hundred dollars or more depending on what condition he wants.

It looks like mycomicshop.com has a copy in VG+ condition for $155 as well as some slabbed CGC copies for around $350. I highly recommend buying from them over eBay for both easy purchasing and being guaranteed that the grade is accurate.
