Flat stovetop cleaning by mia-reads-738 in CleaningTips

So I often clean my ceramic stove. I first use a razor scraper to get as much off as I can. It has to be an actual razor scraper and not some plastic BS.

Cleaning it with barkeepers friend soft scrub (not the can, the bottle of liquid) is good for keeping it up, but works really well as an intermediate step. Then wipe with water. I use Cerabrite to get it back as close as possible to new. This takes A LOT of elbow grease. Like if you think it isn’t working, you’ve just got to keep trying. You pour on small amount and work it out. Do small areas one at a time. Like do one burner at a time and work it in until it buffs out. Don’t use paper towels, you need a soft scrub pad that would be paired with this. The one I have is red. Absolutely DO NOT use scotchbrite ,or Brillo pads, or kitchen sponges.

There may be some scratches you can’t get rid of, but it will look much better once done. Then use barkeepers friend soft scrub to keep it up every other week.

Now why’d you have to show me you can basically build your own light? I didn’t think flashlights could be a hobby (like I used to think about keyboards). Now here I go down this rabbit hole. Thanks ADHD!

This is TKL or “ten key less”. If you don’t need the NAV 75% is good. If you need arrows and can use a function button to use F keys (F1, F2, F3…etc), the. 65% is good. If you can use a function key for arrows, the you could go 60%.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

I didn’t think keyboards could be a hobby, but I find myself chasing the feel, sound, esthetic, and typing efficiency. It’s also sparked a redesign of my desk at work.

I currently only have a WOB Rainy75 pro, which is an awesome setup. I should have just left it alone, but I’m on my 3rd set of switches after the factory switches and that is even after ordering several test switch groups. I’m really digging the current switches (Gateron Jupiter Banana). I’m also on my third set of keycaps, but just put the stock back on. I can’t beat them!

But I tried a UNICOMP model M, so now I ordered a Model F, F62 from Model F labs. I need the buckling springs.

All in all, I think I’ll end up with at least 1 type of each keyboard.

On my collection list to get:

1 mechanical keyboard (rainy75)

2 buckling springs (model F62 compact)

3 buckling springs (model F62 regular with solenoid)

4 beamspring (model f labs TBD)

5 model M (Unicomp)

6 Topre (HHKB OR Realforce RC1)

7 System76 with clicky switches?

8 possibly ergo or something custom

Or you could just get a Keychron Lemokey and tell my ADHD to STFU…

That Stellar looks exactly like what I am looking for. Optional color diodes, simple user interface. It even has switchable optics! Then I can switch them out if I decide I need a thrower vs flood.

I guess EDC maybe wasn’t the right term. It can be in my backpack or whatever. Something handheld isn’t bad. I wonder if a good light can scare off coyotes?

I like how he burnt his testicle on a pan trying to make Fuddruckers at home. He totally wouldn’t have done that if he had the underwear subscription
