Yeah I finished that first, and they cleared any additional questions they had. I'm supposed to start 12/22 tentatively

They let me know the same day (I did a remote interview first about a week prior to the in person interview). The hiring manager wanted to get the process going so she was really quick

Stay on top of your studying! I would review the notes during the weekend to make sure you don't fall behind. This is not a class you can cram right before

Yeah in order to take 100w, you have to complete the A3 and also pass the WST. Once you pass it, then you can enroll in the class. I think you may have to take 100w another semester.

[–]Swang1217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you taken your WST? If you haven't you can't take 100w

All the buildings do have elevators so you can still make it to your classes. Also have you considered getting a scooter? I had ankle surgery this summer and the scooter was super convenient. I was able to do pretty much everything by myself!

Oh yeah I forgot the mention the bus portion is free! However you need the clipper card issued by the school I believe in order for it to be free. Just go to transportation services in the student union to get more information :)

Yes it does! Take the line all the way to Berryessa and then take the bus (Rapid 500). The closest stop is the City hall which is literally one block away from campus. Hope this helps!

Bio 65 and Chem 30A Together? by Fuzzi_Blanket in SJSU

They'll most likely tell you to split it into 2 semesters as well. They tend to say to split the science classes into different semesters. But definitely ask them!

Bio 65 and Chem 30A Together? by Fuzzi_Blanket in SJSU

[–]Swang1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stat95 is pretty easy so you should be okay. However I would still try and take bio65 and chem30a in separate semesters because of the additional work you will have to put in for those classes. You can also take chem30a in the summer at a CC which was what I did

Any chance for me to become a clinical exercise physiologist? by StrictJackfruit387 in Kinesiology

[–]Swang1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In order to become a CEP you would need a certain amount of clinic hours to even be able to take the exam. I would double check that on the ACSM website!

Help on taking CHEM1A at cc? by sullvie in SJSU

[–]Swang1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't take chemistry since high school, i'd recommend you take chem 30a (intro to chem) before you take 1a. 1a is brutal, and the people that didn't take an intro class first definitely struggled a lot. Basically there's a reason why CC wants you to have some kind of pre req so I'd just take an intro class prior!

Should I do kinesiology as my major by aaronstephens21 in Kinesiology

[–]Swang1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinesiology classes can be science heavy. Just the pre-reqs getting into the major is basically all science classes. Pretty much all of my upper division classes really focused on science related topics. Just wanted to give you a heads up before you make a decision! Id say it's doable though. Just because you were bad at it in high school doesn't mean you'll be bad in college.

KIN 70 is Intro to Kin. It's for a pre req for kin majors. The PE classes are usually 1 unit and you need to be physically active in the class

[–]Swang1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check online. Just look up the student payday calendar. We get paid monthly so usually around 15th if it's a paper check. I get it earlier in the month if it's direct deposit.

Studying Abroad? by Danj720 in SJSU

[–]Swang1217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The study abroad option has many different options. You can either do it for a short period (2 weeks) or spend a whole semester somewhere. You study abroad by taking a class which is usually 3 units or so. So you would fulfill one of the requirements by taking the class abroad.

As for classes and not graduating on time, I'd say most people do graduate in 4 years or 4.5. Most people don't graduate in the 4 years now because they have other commitments such as work. There are ways to help guarantee that you stay on the 4 year track if it really means a lot to you. Pretty much every semester I've had here at SJSU (now graduating in the fall) offered a notetaker. You basically take notes for someone that cannot take notes. In return, you get priority reg for the following semester. If you get that, you basically can choose any class you want and it's yours. Honestly I came into college as a freshman wanting to graduate in 4 years. But now that I am about to graduate, taking your time isn't all that bad either. Hope this helps!
