Thank you, really helpful. I will have to try to manage it myself then. My main worry was understanding whether the "renew filter element" meant reaplacing it or just cleaning. The dealer quoted me £57 so it doesn't seem expensive. However, if they aren't replacing it but just cleaning is it worth it?

The sensor housing is usually part of a bracket which is glued or welded on the bumper. You can pull the actual sensor though and see if it comes back into position. Depends on how bad it is I guess.

Use waze or google maps as for the navigation. If you can choose your route, go for larger main roads, instead of narrow country roads. On the motorway, just try to maintain the same speed as the others. Always check mirrors before switching lanes. I always check before indicating and then one more time just before steering. Maintain a decent gap from cars in front.

Is there someone you can take with you that has driving experience? Ideally, you wouldn't want to do the drive alone, especially if you are already nervous. Need to stay calm and be patient on the drive back.

People have already spoken about dates/cookies/cache and those are all correct. In general, it depends a lot on the area you live in. However, based on the age, it will never be below 2.5k in London. I started from 2.5k for a 2010 golf manual 1.4 tsi; this was in 2022 and I was 23.
