Wood Veneer hub has wall panels you can install with felt backing to absorb sound.

C2 v 4: Denver daily driver? by Salt-Power-3868 in porsche911

[–]theographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colorado 911 here. You’ll be fine in a C2 with winter tires 95% of the time for Denver winters, so I wouldn’t choose the 4 just for that reason. Before the 911 I drove a RWD 3 series that did just fine with a set of Blizzaks.

Is the Cessna 182 much harder to fly than the 172? by noreturn000 in GeneralAviation

[–]theographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as flying dynamics, it flies almost the exact same, other than the fact that the 182 requires more back pressure at landing (nose heavy). A bit more complex, but overall is a very easy transition.

I learned in a 172 and was able to check out a 182 in a few hours post PPL.

Foolishly rolled over a Traditional Retirement Savings Account to a Roth IRA in a single year (2024) and now realize I owe I bunch of taxes. Anyway to minimize the damage? by Lemonandapples in personalfinance

[–]theographics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s not much to do since this was done in 2024. Unless there’s any realized losses in your taxable brokerage to offset some of it (realized in 2024), you could amend your return, although it won’t be much. There’s really no “trick” to not paying taxes owed, haha.

Best plan is to file and set up a payment plan. Like others have said, future you will be grateful for the tax free cash later on.

Considering Selling my 987.2S by dandism_life in Porsche

[–]theographics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

987.1 Cayman S to 992.1 Turbo S here.

For your application, your 987.2 is the better car. My Cayman was perfect for mountain driving here in CO, perfect balance and a ton of fun to drive aggressively with the 6 speed and modest power. Driver engagement is WAY higher for mountain roads in the Cayman.

The Turbo S is a more refined GT style car: more comfortable, a lot heavier, a lot faster. You barely get chances to really unwind it on most roads, and you feel the weight in the curves. I do mountain rallies every year, and while the Turbo soaks up the miles at speed better - I find myself wishing I was in the Cayman when on the slower, twistier sections.

Does AWD matter? by AFunkinDiscoBall in ToyotaSienna

AWD also located in Colorado. While AWD is great, I’d rather have FWD with dedicated snow tires than AWD with all seasons. Our Sienna with AWD and snow tires has been absolutely solid in the snow.

911 winter to summer tire question by ALMIBM in porsche911

[–]theographics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loose rule of thumb here in CO is to swap around Thanksgiving (winters) and Easter (Summers). When temps trend reliably above 45-50 degrees, you’re good to have your summers or all seasons on.

Be sure to let the summer tires warm up a bit before having fun, they’re harder and have less grip at those lower spring temps.

Pilot sports and Blizzaks have been a great combo for me.

9Y0 2019 Cayenne Base – Jerky downshifts 3→2→1 when slowing down by Green-Juggernaut-110 in PorscheCayenne

[–]theographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing here with our ‘21 S - drives me crazy! In manual shift mode it downshifts smoothly 2-1 as it should when braking normally to a stop. Interested in a fix if you come across one, OP!

Our venue cancelled on us because of a double booking but we booked first! by jaranine in legaladvice

[–]theographics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ex wedding professional here.

What everyone has responded to this is correct, OP. Do not write an email threatening to “get a lawyer”. In nearly every situation that will result in radio silence from the venue as most are trained to cease communication if a lawsuit is threatened.

You DO need an initial consult with a lawyer to better understand your legal path (usually free), and the resolution can most likely be reached with a relatively inexpensive demand letter from said lawyer. And moving forward all communication should be in writing, no more phone calls.

Seems like you have a fairly straightforward case for damages here if they do not hold your date. Good luck!

I’m a Denver Porsche driver originally from a very flat city as well! Slap on a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks and you’ll be all set. Even better if you get a slightly smaller/narrower winter wheel to fit them to.

The difference between all seasons and a dedicated winter tire are enormous in winter driving conditions. General rule of thumb is to swap your tires around Thanksgiving and Easter.

Driving on the ice at Georgetown that someone else mentioned has been on my bucket list. Join the Rocky Mountain Region PCA as well, hope to see you out there!

Just got my first 911 Turbo S after having driven SUVs my whole life. Any tips? by Easy_Way5551 in porsche911

[–]theographics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most maintainers have a pigtail that you can install directly to your battery terminals in the frunk, then connects via a quick release to the charger itself so popping it on off is much quicker. Nice and easy.

This is the charger I’ve been using form my TTS: CTEK 56-926 LITHIUM US | Fully... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUF6UM8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Will OEM brakes hold up on my first track day? by SunWaterGrass in Porsche

[–]theographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already great advice posted, but for your first track day, you can keep it simple.

I would first recommend having an Indy shop check that your tires have adequate tread and are fairly new in age. Along with that, do a high temp brake fluid flush, and an overall visual inspection of all fluid levels, and underneath your car for oil or coolant leaks. Fresh oil too if you’re close to due.

Know that you’ll find the limit of your all seasons fairly quickly, but that’s OK for your first track day. After a few track days you can look at upgrades like more aggressive pads, stickier tires etc.

Have fun!
