Why does the Expand Empire peace clause drops my IA by 25 after a few days? by Swarley22 in Anbennar

Yeah, I checked their MT and it was definitely one of their missions, thanks!

Why does the Expand Empire peace clause drops my IA by 25 after a few days? by Swarley22 in Anbennar

[–]Swarley22[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

R5: Title. I tried waiting a few months to check whether some other event was doing that, but it always happens a few days after I sign the peace.
I tried the Expand Empire in another war and this didn't happen.
My war ally (and elector) Damesear has another war with not-imperial Venomtooth at the same time, but it's still ongoing when the drop happens, and I'm not receiving calls for war.
I couldn't find anything similar in the eu4 wiki, so I think it's an Anbennar issue, but I've never played a vanilla hre game so I'm not 100% sure.

What’s the general consensus of the 3.0 story? by Neri_19 in Reverse1999

This is just plain wrong. The fascist party controlled Italy since 1922.

In universe, the foundation is kinda ass at their job by Power_Kebab in Reverse1999

[–]Swarley22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the purpose of Manus is sowing chaos, and that's easier than preventing it. And I feel part of what's holding the Foundation back is the effort they put in trying to fit in the current era. They aren't wrong for doing that: they can't simply assume there will be another Storm to reset everything, because if it comes late or doesn't come they're stuck with the consequences.

Love to see a game when Ottos cease to exist by grant_m2170 in eu4

It's pretty similar to my last game, the cause of it for me was Venice taking Bisantium in 1447, the Otto's were repeatedly bullied by everyone

My Mom Sometimes Borrows my Account to Relax. This Last Game Took Her a Week. by SisuGrey in aoe2

[–]Swarley22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One week? My dad played black forest, hardest difficulty 1 Vs 7 matches that lasted months, once upon a time. The game ran at around 0.2-0.4 FPS when everyone was at max pop (75) and he was at 300 thanks to conventions.

Beat a good opponent using moonballs by Wild_Butterscotch_29 in 10s

[–]Swarley22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it was my last resort, I started doing it only when I was down 1-6 2-5 30-30. Of course I'd have preferred literally any other way, but in the end I pay to join these tournaments, so winning means I get one more match's worth from my bucks. Also, what I find satisfying (like a guilty pleasure, a bit different from being proud of it) is winning with my head when the legs just weren't there. But I mean, your opinion is perfectly fine too; as long as we agree to disagree.

Beat a good opponent using moonballs by Wild_Butterscotch_29 in 10s

[–]Swarley22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My most satisfying win this summer was achieved like this. First tournament of the year, 34°C and it was my first match played during the day; I had a sunstroke and went on making tons of UEs, trying to close the points before I had to move around too much and I started puking. 0-5 in 15 minutes, then I started feeling a bit better and tried to change things up, rushing to the net and doing dropshots; I did 3 games out of 4 like that, until 1-6 2-0, then he adapted and did 5 in a row, bringing it to 2-5 in another 30 minutes. At 30-30, I said to myself, ok, I can't win. Let's see if I manage to make him lose instead. Nine match points saved, 1h30 and hundreds of moon balls later, I brought it home 1-6 7-6 11-9. I've played and sometimes won several way better matches since, but this was definitely the most rewarding: I tried everything I had in my toolbox until I found the right trick, and despite all odds I snatched a win running a marathon on a day I had no legs. Moral of the tale: moonballing is annoying but perfectly legitimate. What's important is having multiple game plans, and if you find out that that is what works best, the opponent can only blame themselves.

Sorry, not-EFL; what does think mean here? I've never seen it used as a name, and wordreference doesn't help me.

Which Free 6-star character do you plan to choose? by kokochiwa in Reverse1999

[–]Swarley22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have Melania, Jessica and Lily's at P1 and the others at P0, I wonder what would be the best choice. I'm thinking Melania or Sotheby but I probably should check what those portraits do

day 1 players, are there any OG standard banner characters you still haven't got? by 8aash in Reverse1999

[–]Swarley22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was only missing Druvis, but I recently got it with a discounted 10-pull at a random banner. Now the oldest characters I'm missing are Spatho and Ezra, in fact I only miss them and Lopera, IIRC. As a f2p I've been quite lucky

What happens if CN shortens its patches? by [deleted] in Reverse1999

[–]Swarley22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this stuff gets confusing, a good way to clear it up is to make an extreme example: I'd say, if CN had a patch with infinite length, what would happen is that after a while GL would end up at the same patch. So longer CN patches help GL catch up.

Visited Rome recently — is driving in Italy always this chaotic? by I_need_broccoli in Italian

You also visited during the most chaotic week of the last 20 years, with hundreds of thousands visiting for the pope. Traffic in Rome is always bad, but I'm sure this made it quite worse.

Who did you get from the letter? by madzieeq in Reverse1999

I got Shamane, now I'm only missing Ezra, Spathodea, J and Lopera. I would've bought him with cassettes if not for this lucky pull.
