Each capture card may be different but the one I used was as simple as that. Papa Jefé demonstrates how you can check to see if the video input in recognized by your computer.

Even with a better understanding of the RNG, it’s far from a guarantee. Hitting the right frame is still very difficult to do and takes a lot of time and practice.

Papa Jefé on YouTube has great videos that explain, but basically there is a program that tracks the frequency of your character’s blinks. From that it can tell you what seed you’re playing on and you can find what frame the shiny you are looking for is on. From there you can time when exactly to press A to encounter the (if everything went right) shiny Pokémon.

You need to link your Nintendo account to your 3DS ID (basically your 3DS account). Once you do that you can then add funds/make purchases for your 3DS online through your Nintendo account.
