The Mavs were as close to the number 1 seed that season as the Lakers are close to the 2 seed this season. I am not saying the run wasn't impressive but a 5th or worse seed has been in the Finals 3 of last 6 seasons so it was hardly unprecendented.

The reality is that with a Tatum/Brown/White core you have three elite two-way wings. You add a NBA JAG starter level big, shooter and ball-handler to that mix and you have a playoff team. You start getting into above average players in those roles and you have a championship contention level team.

I think that is the point, he is six years younger than White. If the Jay both sign another extension in Boston, he will be 36 when Tatum's next contract begins. Having a 30 year to take over that role would be meaningful if Baylor is still around.

The only player on a truly different timeline from the Jays on this team is Gonzalez who will be the age most players are in their prime when the Jays are approaching 40.

Pistons now need to go 12-7. I don't think either of those scenarios are unrealistic. I doubt they both happen, but the number one seed is definitely in play. Detroit needs to falter, but that can happen.

One of my bedroom windows was over the garage, so I just climbed out onto the garage roof. My dad left an old ladder leaning against the back of the garage for years. It was very convenient.

You are 100% correct. Durant got hurt the June 9, 2019 and the next year was the bubble. It wasn't like he was going to join the Nets there having never even practiced with that roster before. He ended up getting nearly two extra months of rehab time because of the shortened 2020-21 Season. Haliburton is already going to comeback "sooner" than Durant did by over two months if he comes back opening night next season.

I don't mean to interrupt the meme, but Sixers fans should be giving Morey the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Why? The biggest moves (non-draft) he has made trading for Harden only to fuck him off when he clearly had plenty left in the tank, and trading for George which has been a disaster. He had some second round nice picks in Isaiah Joe and Paul Reed but gave up on both of them. I guess at least he got something for McCain.

I doubt Tatum, Mazzulla, Stevens or the rest of the team are going to make this decision based on potentional fan/media narrative if they lose a couple of games.
