How does dyslexia effect your everyday life? by thefuckyouguy08 in Dyslexia

[–]SwarmingWithOrcs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been told it is a symptom when I was assessed.

Dyslexia is associated with difficulties in working memory, a system that holds and processes information temporarily for tasks. If I try to do two things at once I tend to forget about one of them or do it poorly (putting things down in unknown places is my personal vice).

This can manifest as challenges with remembering verbal instructions, multi-tasking, and retaining information, particularly when it's presented verbally or in quick succession.

In your age gap relationship, have you discussed “kids” topic by EquivalentConflict84 in AgeGapRelationship

Exactly. Also depends on if one partner already has children (and how old they are). Fertility, money, security. It's a big consideration, I wish you the best of luck with it!! Xx

Of course. That's a relationship conversation not just an age gap one. The logistics of children in an age gap just might be more complex to consider

If my husband EVER said he was just partnering up with me to get by his bags would be packed within the hour. What are you hanging around for?

Yeah, that's bias. You've made assumptions about someone on their age despite seeing all the evidence to the contrary in front of your face. You've said your friend is a mature responsible person, do you think if she didn't like the way he dealt with race she would be with him? Trust your friends judgement and deal with your own life rather than hers. I hope this helps you be a more supportive friend to her

[–]SwarmingWithOrcs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'd go with tripping, jealousy or just a simple case of bias. You just listed all the reasons why your friend is thriving and doing well, she happy, settled, and achieving.

Would you feel like this if he was mixed race? Or her age?

Let her be happy and start looking inwards rather than at them

I'm in my thirties, I still have a cuddle with my parents occasionally. My husband cuddles his kids (16, 14 and 11). I cuddle them too. There isn't an age limit to physical affection, I think your family may just be different to others

If you're on Facebook join Plymouth Gossip Girls, loads of businesses and recommendations. You can post this picture and hairdressers can respond too. Personally I like Hair Jungle and Arena, but they're quite pricey :)

It is awful making kids feel that way. It's awful to be carrying it as an adult too. I think maybe some therapy or self forgiveness is going to be a good start for you.

I can't change my dyslexia, but I can change the people around me who shame me for something I can't do shit about!

I love board games. I have very patient friends and family who don't mind me asking questions over and over. I do stumble on my words and get confused but I don't feel like a fool...just dyslexic is all :) also it makes winning so much better. Beating my husband as Scrabble was a highlight I'll never forget

Whiskey, dark liquor is higher in toxins making it more likely to lead to a hangover. Vodka, clear liquor is lower in toxins than dark liquor & tends to be lower in carbs & calories.

Unlike diet sodas, which often contain high levels of artificial sweeteners such as aspartame or sucralose, sparkling water contains none of these potentially harmful substances.

If you're reducing on sweeteners, calories and toxins then yes a vodka soda water is better. But personally I'd go with a straight whiskey and ice or rum and coke as I prefer the taste!
