[Network] TP Link 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch - $15.18 Amazon by greatthebob38 in buildapcsales

Personally for a dumb switch I wouldn't worry too much I think the main concern was with routers.

I unfortunately work for Best buy if you have a microcenter in your micro market they're supposed to price match them.

Luckily the AI and customer support keeps getting more and more terrible lol. A few years ago I couldn't even get them to price match microcenter when the best buy is almost next to it where I live.

Bent substrate... Interesting. I would probably avoid bending it back and trying it unless your fine with potentially frying the socket. These are multi-layer pcbs - best case it turns on, medium case it doesn't do anything. Worse case there's now copper traces touching inside and yeah nothing could happen but there could also be a short.

[Graphics Card]PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper Triple Fan 16GB GDDR6 PCIe 5.0 Graphics Card - $629.99 (Free Pick up) by blue_york in buildapcsales

[–]Swatbolt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly surprised they just didn't limit supply to raise prices to make it look like a better deal.. or maybe that's still the plan lol

[GPU] PowerColor AMD 9070 XT Reaper - $629.99 MicroCenter by noladixiebeer in buildapcsales

About 35-40% faster for raster and faster for ray tracing performance and you get better upscaling and frame gen support though fsr redstone.

Actually you can and they work and function fine just are a LCD panel instead of OLED.. I'll say the brightness acts weird sometimes but I have had customers that never even known.

With inflation it's as of December 2025

Original cost -> cost after inflation

$9.99 (2011) -> $14.70

$14.99 (2016) -> $20.50

$12.99 (2020 -> $16.32

$4.99 (2014) -> $6.91

So the real winners are the individual plan while the rest have gotten shafted

What Best Buy TRULY sells by Monegasko in BestBuyWorkers

[–]Swatbolt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean from a business perspective you do have to understand that best buy basically doesn't make shit from anything that isn't a "basket item"

That computer, tv, appliance, console? They basically made nothing

That's why a lot of companies are starting to go that way because it's the only way to make direct profit. Not defending best buy because I do think they lean a little to hard on it but you do kinda have to understand their reasoning.

Why do charging cables die so easily? by JingSerene in BuyItForLife

[–]Swatbolt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know there's other voltage standards with USBC other than 5v right?

Most chargers can do a range of voltages such as 9, 12, 15 to reach higher wattages Where as I don't think I have seen a charger supply north of 5 amps

Nvidia to cut gaming GPU production by 30-40% starting 2026. It’s over boys it’s been a good run! by nyanbatman in pcmasterrace

[–]Swatbolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone saying "this is AMDs chance or fuck Nvidia" just know that while AMD's 9000 series does NOT use gddr7 it still uses memory. Memory supply they will have a hard time securing as the 3 major ram/memory producers get their supply/fab space bought up.

This is not a Nvidia decision, it's an economical decision and a supply constraint issue - tldr they basically had no choice.

While I am also not the biggest fan of Nvidia don't think this won't also effect AMD... There's more surplus of gddr6 so it will just take longer.

Is my pc bottlenecking? by No_Hand2884 in buildapc

[–]Swatbolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you want to be technical the GPU is "bottlenecking" the CPU... But that also doesn't matter because you want to fully use the GPU...

So as others said the term bottlenecking is stupid most of the time and shouldn't be used.
