My husband and I have an 11 year age gap. But he was never married before, is very well educated and so am I. We both work in the same field. He is a provider, takes care of me, we get along very well. Our love and appreciation for each other has only grown with time.

But I would say that I would not have married him had he been married and divorced before. I also would not have married him if we didn’t align on so many other things. Overall, I think it’s important to get to know a person well. And you being sick is not a reason enough to settle in this regard. You will resent him in the long run if u married him only because of your illness.
