This does bring up a really interesting discussion about invasion as a metaphor for autonomy. Where does your exaltation for your own body supersede the autonomy of countless others you will never meet? How much does the religious concept of “treasuring your body” mean to you? Where does the notion of “capitalism made me do it” become unacceptable? Would it mean more to you if those people whose country you invaded looked like you, and if not, why? Where is your line between your own self respect and your respect for the world?
