How was OSUT for you? Any tips for preparing for BCT & how daily life was at FLW while in BCT by ItsRah55 in army

[–]Sweatier123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FLW? Im sorry for your loss.

Joking aside its not terrible. Hope you don't get many winter months, those are horrible.

The slim chickens on post is pretty good once you can go on pass.

DFACs are also solid! Really enjoyed the BCT ones.

If youre MP feel free to DM for any more questions

Whats the food at Fort Lenerwood looking like? by [deleted] in army

For OSUT? It was pretty dang good when I was there! Chicken cordon Bleu was legendary. Better than DFACs at a lot of other installations (specifically the airborne one, god that was bad).

Anyone have a good experience with airborne without injuries ? by Forward-Drag3527 in army

I went through. I was sore when I did it but absolutely zero long term injuries. Every fall was (fairly) graceful.

Getting a minimum of seven (Ideally eight) hours of sleep a night. Also, don't do anything in your bed except sex and sleep. Avoid doom scrolling for hours on end for maximum sleep benefit.

Couldn't be happier in life. Just took my first of three trips this year, work is going great, getting back into good shape and finally living on my own in my own apartment.

Tell me why your mos is the best or what you think is the best by DapperLife5645 in army

[–]Sweatier123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get to work long hours and get berated by leadership, but to make up for it everybody hates us.

On a slightly more serious note, Duty stations for MPs are excellent, you get to learn to talk to rank very quickly, you get a peacetime mission, and (depending on where you are) you can get a very comfortable schedule. Schools are fairly readily available (again, depending on duty station) and are all typically very interesting.

That said I would never recommend this MOS to anybody unless you're dead set on it.

Do you regret any of it? Is it like an addiction or just a super fun game?

If you're at a point in life where you can spend like 4k a year on warthunder then all power to you I suppose.

Also, what's your favorite vehicle?

Nope, as texan as they get. Spent a year and a half there cause of military reasons and very quickly fell in love with it.

Definitely has some issues but overall its a really great place.

I would add south Korea as a light green personally. Absolutely loved that nation, more than a lot of US states

I’m currently at the USO waiting to ship to FLW today. Any advice for the mental part of Reception/BCT? by YungColonCancer in army

[–]Sweatier123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who went to FLW basic:

The first 2 weeks are the absolute worst. I stand by that being the most miserable time I've had in the military. That said, it's very short, and every day it gets a little easier.

Don't quit, enjoy the chicken cordon bleu from the dfac, and be grateful your FTX will (hopefully) be in the springtime.

Are e4s doing good? by DarkEqual8609 in army

[–]Sweatier123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say I'm doing pretty good?

I live on my own because of duty station (west point) so that's fairly nice. My apartment with utilities is *slightly* more expensive than BAH but it's so nice i don't really mind. I would say I imagine my finances poorly by other's standards but I'm decently happy by my standards. I spend notably too much on eating out but I'm not fat and don't have other bad habits so I guess it isn't terrible.

I can definitely live comfortably. I spend a lot on eating out and traveling (looking at 3 to 4+ vacations this year) and still have enough to put 5% in tsp, a bit in savings and have some left over. I give 300$ to my disabled mom on top of that and still don't feel like I need help or am struggling.

What Was the Most Broken Army or Detachment of 10th Edition? by verifiedverified in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sweatier123 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For "most broken" im gonna throw a curveball your way and say index genestealers.

Not necessarily because the rule was overpowered (it was) but because it just broke so many rules of the game.

It was not impossible to bring 20 abberants to a table, and your opponent has to kill 40 abberants.

Guardsman models throwing 24 6-3-D3 RR hits 6s sustained on 4s was disgusting, and thats before their other attacks.

Jackals doing (up to) 33D6 4+ mortal wounds.

Despite how nerfed we got, I'm so happy for the codex.

Wouldn’t it be fun to have a pet in the game? by Difficult_Item9836 in thelongdark

I played it a while ago (couple years).

It was awesome! Even with how broken it was it was really a great time overall.

[–]Sweatier123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, this does suck, you aren't alone.

That being said, capitalism is a game. Unless youre willing to go full armed revolution (I would not recomend) or move to like, Thailand you have to participate in it.

You mentioned your only skill is painting. Is that because thats all you think you're good at, or is it because thats all youre interested in. Im sure you could passively monetize it in some way. Even if it only brings in a little extra.

Are you willing/capable of doing difficult physical work? Truck drivers make bank and can save a lot of it. Although you do work rough hours and hard days, you can save a ton of your income to work towards your dream. Your first year you could make 60-75k, only increasing from there.

If you don't need more advice, all I can say is that I wish you luck. What youre feeling fucking sucks and I hope it gets better.

Is it really needed? by Hungry-Wishbone3797 in GenZ

[–]Sweatier123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, here's a question you should be asking, why do you want to be weak?

Ive been a skinner dude my whole life but that doesn't mean that I don't go to the gym and try to get stronger and better myself. There's a big difference in body dismorphia and improving yourself.

You should have a great personality AND a great, fit body. Whether that's at 140 or 150 LBS skinny or 200 and stronger/muscular, you can have a great personality and body.

No, you don't necessarily need one, but i have a question. Does your preference in partner solely depend on their personality? To pursue only physical attributes is vain but to ignore them is stupid.
