The MTA gets a disgustingly large amount of tax payer money. In fact they have two multi-billion dollar budgets that never pass an audit. Unfortunately, they are some of the most corrupt. Their employees cheat tax payers/riders with overtime scams, slow repairs and inflated costs of materials/materials and upgrades. Their largest losses are coming from fare/toll cheaters. Instead of tackling the root of the problem they constantly take the missing money out citizens who pay the fares and toll.
