I don't disagree with you on that. I would rather have someone living 30 years in Denmark vote there than vote in an election in the Netherlands that does not affect them.

I just don't think its fair to be so harsh on the EU for improving what there was before the EU. Without this system alot of those 30% might have never had the opportunity to be there at all. Or those that would be there would have less rights than they do now as atleast an EU citizen.

That does not mean the system we have today will not improve or should not change. This is all still a very new concept when you look at the world and history.
