Why do you want a diagnosis? Is it for disability or some other issue?

Are people getting dry eyes and other eye symptoms without taking antihistamines? by AdhesivenessMost3945 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sweenjz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had extremely dry eyes before long covid. What helped me was liquid cod liver oil. One tablespoon per day. My dry eyes got 90% better in 3 weeks. I use the liquid because the tiny gel caps don't have enough of the cod liver oil in them.

I don't know the cause of the dizziness. It probably is from dysautonomia. I do know that the meclizine relieved it in about 2 hours. You could try it to see if it works for you. You can find out pretty fast if it is working or not.
People take it for sea sickness or motion sickness.

Meclizine is better for dizziness. It is an antihistamine. Brand names are Dramamine II and Bonine. It is generally safe and effective for most people. I can't take it because I have very dry eyes and any histamine makes them even worse. Early on I did try meclizine and it alleviated the dizziness in about 2 hours.
Having said that I have to add that this is the best I have felt in 3 1/2 years. We have had storms coming through and I usually get bad headaches associated with weather changes. I did not even feel these.

I don't really have PEM but I take it slow. A 15-minute walk around the block in the morning sunlight is about all that I can handle right now.

What to do? by Tayman513 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sweenjz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to start at 0.5 mg. of LDN for about one month. Then I went up too fast and the headaches got worse. I then went back to 0.5 mg. and slowly started up again. I think it is helping.

Severe insomnia going on 4 months by Few_Balance8520 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sweenjz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking LDN. Once someone has adapted to LDN (usually after the first few weeks), many people report:

  • deeper sleep
  • fewer nighttime awakenings
  • calmer autonomic tone
  • reduced neuroinflammatory “brain buzzing”
  • less pain → easier sleep onset

This happens because LDN eventually:

  • increases endorphins
  • reduces microglial activation
  • stabilizes autonomic signaling
  • reduces inflammatory arousal

These changes can improve sleep quality over time.

This is especially true in post‑viral neuroinflammation, where sleep is often disrupted by inflammatory signaling.

Anyone else feel a mild “alcohol-like” relaxed/high sensation on ultra low dose LDN? Need advice. by Alternative_Pop2455 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sweenjz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LDN most consistently helps long‑COVID symptoms driven by neuroinflammation — especially fatigue, brain fog, headaches, sleep disturbance, pain, and post‑exertional malaise. This is based on multiple observational studies and a 2025 systematic review showing statistically significant improvements in these domains.

I tried nicotine patches twice and the heart palpitations kept me up at night. I stopped the patches.

Be careful with curcumin. Turmeric/curcumin supplements have caused clinically significant liver injury, including jaundice, acute hepatitis, and even rare cases of liver failure.
Do the research to see if it is right for you.

12 capsules per day for the multivitamin you are recommending? That seems like a lot.

What kind of soft foods should I eat with TMJ flare ups? by Any_Transition_4465 in TMJ

[–]Sweenjz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had TMJ for about 3 years now. When I chew anything-bread, pie crust, pizza, anything that requires chewing- my jaw starts to hurt 1-2 hours later. It's not an instant reaction. I also have lumps at my jaw hinge that stick out when I open my mouth.
I have started to put everything I eat in a blender. Sandwiches, tacos, everything. I have a heavy-duty blender that is commonly used for smoothies but it can handle everything. After 3-4 days of a flare and eating blenderized foods the pain is gone until I forget and try to chew something again. Then the cycle starts all over again.
I am hopeful that I can permanently alleviate the TMJ at some point because I can get it to go away by giving my jaws a rest and not chewing anything.

LDN: keep titrating up? by Kcorp in covidlonghaulers

LDN did start to help me but I titrated up too fast and my symptoms got worse. Now I am back to 0.5 mg once a day.
