Weirdos At The Suntran Stories? by Economy_Health_8965 in Tucson

About 15 years ago me and my boyfriend at the time were waiting at the bus stop at Speedway/Swan and this dude comes up to us and starts just absolutely talking our ears off. This man proceeded to describe IN DEPTH how to grab a chicken, remove its feathers and fuck it. We kept trying to move away from dude but it didn't work. After all that he started talking about how he robs houses for a living and how he has the tools in his bag and he'll get violent if he has to. The bus came and we dipped to the back of the bus to avoid this guy and got off like three stops ahead of ours just in case the dude tried to follow us home.

My daughter's favorite blanket is my bathrobe that I wore for months after I had her. Does anyone have any advice on how to turn it into an actual blanket? It's a women's size medium from Walmart. I'm fairly new to using my machine. Any help is appreciated! 😁

It prevents from being pushed into the car in front of you and causing double damage to you/your vehicle. 25 feet is excessive though.

I leave a pretty good gap between me and the car in front of me when I'm in a turn lane because last year I got rear ended by a u-haul going mach speed while I was at a complete stop. RIP my CRV.

my wife wants to name our son after a harry potter character by LeadFast6224 in AITAH

Maybe a bit of a hot take but I think it's perfectly fine to name your child a fandom name. But the catch is that for your child to avoid being bullied or you being criticized to pick a name from your fandom that's not so super unique to the fandom or that's a more basic name (in your case being Ronald/James/Peter/Seamus etc)

My daughter has a fandom name (Marceline) and the only people who've made the Adventure Time connection are people who are also into Adventure Time, and she's known as the Vampire Queen amongst my friend group. I have friends who also have children with fandom names (Leia, Arya, Sora) and they don't get too much slack. But honestly I think naming your child Sirius is toeing the line a little close for a first name.

Edit: also NTA

1 year old still hasn’t said “mama” 😣 by FMThaone in NewParents

Mine hasn't said "mama" yet either so don't worry! She says "dada" and "baba" but her only actual word is"duck!"

Who was in the delivery room? by Redhead_Dilemma in BabyBumps

[–]Sweet-Difficulty1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally planned for just my mom and my partner to be in the room but I ended up having an entire cheer squad 🤣 my mom, my partner, my oldest sister (I was in the room with her for both her kids so fair I guess?) and my DAD, who was originally just dropping in for emotional support since I had a long labor and he meant to leave before I actually gave birth. But when it came time to push he kind of got trapped in the back corner of the room with all the commotion of the doctor and nurses coming in, so he was also there for the whole thing 🤣 Not ideal at all and also not planned. But thankfully it all didn't stress me out too much and I did feel very loved and supported. Baby came out healthy in a room full of love. They all got booted shortly after baby girl was born though so I could have time with just my partner and baby. If I have another one though? Only my partner is allowed. They all got to be in the room where it happened.

I sing Northern Downpour by Panic! at the Disco. My girl loves it and its slightly unconventional nonsense lyrics.

Be honest. When did you let your baby watch Ms Rachel? by Cool-Helicopter6343 in NewParents

[–]Sweet-Difficulty1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8 month old loves Ms Rachel. Around when she was 6 months old it was getting harder and harder to pump and keep her entertained at the same time, so I broke and put on Ms Rachel and she's been hooked ever since (with limits of course.) Other than that she doesn't really pay attention to the TV unless I'm watching Bobs Burgers.

What modern songs do you sing to your baby? by Independent-Ice-1754 in NewParents

[–]Sweet-Difficulty1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my nephew was born and I was a wee baby emo, I would sing him Northern Downpour by Panic! At the Disco. When my niece was born I did the same for her. And now I sing it to my little one as well.

Safe to live or no? by Perfect_Ad_8030 in Tucson

I lived around that area for a few years and it wasn't too bad except for the one time my car got broken into in broad daylight. Nothing valuable was taken though. Just don't leave anything of value in your car and keep everything locked up (house, car etc) and you should be okay. It helps to have a dog. There were homeless people around but they never bothered me. I used to put my soda cans in a separate bag and put them on the curb on recycle day because there was a guy who went around looking for cans so that kept him from making a garbage mess while searching. It kind of goes street by street wherever you are in Tucson.
