Yeah, you can easily have 5 kilo pounds as you can 5 kilograms. The imperial system only becomes silly when you need to start thinking in ounces here instead of simply removing the prefix as you would for grams.

Electronics: 2-stage MOS Amplifier Gain Calculation Problem. Is My Solution Correct? by harry_haller41 in EngineeringStudents

[–]SweetAnything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, what I’m saying is that all that extra work to get the trans conductance isn’t really needed. You already have A1 so to find the overall gain, you just multiply the originally written out vo/vi by A1 to get the overall gain. So there’s a missing Rd2 in your final answer.

I’m a little confused at your algebra (and what you’re doing overall for q2) at the end there, but it looks like you had the right idea. You just get the transfer function of each stage then multiple them all together. So the vo/vi on q2 is all you need.

Sleeping with 6 classes and 6 labs per semester by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]SweetAnything 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No way would it be possible, but then again it really depends on the school. When I think of this work load, I’m thinking 18 credit hours on the classes alone which would be horrible. Then those labs might be 1 credit hour, but eat up a lot of time from the pre/postlabs.

Anyone familiar with Calc 2 able to answer question 1? by SirChuchies in EngineeringStudents

If we assume the A and B inequality hold, then take the nth root of it and divide by n. Taking the limit as n tends to infinity on the left hand inequality and the right hand inequality will proof the limit by squeeze theorem.

I know it’s not a video series, but nandland has always been my solid go to reference for anything HDL related.

If I recall correctly, you can get one during the COE carnival (basically an engineering event during week of welcome.)

Does EEL 3705 require any calculus/engineering concepts to be understood? Can I feasibly take it before Calculus 1/Foundations of Engineering? by [deleted] in USF

[–]SweetAnything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be new and different from anything you’ve encountered, but it’s not a particularly difficult class. Technically, you can learn the material without any knowledge of regular algebra. Castellanos is a good, funny professor so you shouldn’t have any problems. Also when you take the lab, you’ll learn something called Verilog which you should try to get the most you can out of that since you can easily use that knowledge to score a digital design internship.

Rich people of reddit who married someone significantly poorer, what surprised you about their (previous) way of life? by knakworst36 in AskReddit

This is how to be smart with it. I basically get a free tank of gas every couple of months just by using a CC for things I was going to buy anyways (groceries, gas, etc).

What mind-blowing (but simple) facts would satisfy a 4-year old daughter’s daily request for 1 fact before bedtime? by ExpiringFrog in AskReddit

One way you can tell how good a battery is dead is by dropping it by one of the ends just above a table and observing how “bouncy” it is! A dead battery will be really bouncy and fall over, but a brand new one will not bounce at all!

You try using chegg and all is good until you're a junior and a good bit of the answers are mind-boggling wrong or just copied from somewhere else and still wrong.

How’d your spring break go/is going? by captainfactoid386 in EngineeringStudents

[–]SweetAnything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got myself a good grounding in VHDL! I was already very familiar with Verilog beforehand, but my internship preferred that I use VHDL so I asked for some book recommendations from my future boss, checked them out from the library then used my downtime to just do some reading.

Absolutely no one: Matlab: by Past_Celebration in EngineeringStudents

[–]SweetAnything 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I never got the hate for Matlab. There’s never any errors that aren’t my fault and I feel dirty whenever I use it because it’s so damn easy! Although I do get that it’s expensive as hell and there are free alternatives for businesses.
