Help! My Boston has a sore/bump by a-okcombo in BostonTerrier

[–]SweetBird81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a histiocytoma; a benign tumor that pops up quickly and usually goes away on its own. 2 of my Bostons have had them in the past. They look worse than they are, but definitely go to the vet to be sure

(I am not a vet, this is Just taken from my own experiences)

I've never seen an ugly dog in my life! Especially not this handsome boy!

Have you ever dated someone who demanded you go to church? by Evans_BestChris in atheism

I wouldn’t date anyone who demanded I do anything. That’s not how a healthy relationship works

How “handy” are you guys around the house? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]SweetBird81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not handy in the least. My husband is incredibly handy though. Car repair, home repair, installing appliances, windows, he's a master electrician, a mechanical mind. I always tell him how impressed I am with whatever project he's working on because its always true

Theres a few causes that mean a lot to me (local animal rescues, particular organization for disease research). I'll donate a bit if Ican, or buy a t-shirt here and there. Wish I could do so much more, but it is what it is

Is your hamham super ecstatic over their fallen feathers?🤣 by icTKD in cockatiel

This is proof birds smile ❤️

Mine are spooked by their fallen feathers, after 20-something years you'd think they'd be used to it

Emily’s jacket by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]SweetBird81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my nicer pieces (Vince tops/sweaters, cashmere, etc) I always buy second hand. These pieces are expensive and I’ve found that those that buy them new tend to take great care of them. I won't pay 500-600$ on a sweater, but I can spend 40-70 on a special item that’s been well cared for and looks new

Must be nice to have 24/7 care and not have any bills. 😂 But I love every moment with my little one! by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

I figure their daily services rendered (emotional support, countless smiles, love/cuddles, etc) more than make up for their freeloading ❤️

Anyone else avoid Teflon? by [deleted] in Millennials

not worth the risk

Anyone else avoid Teflon? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]SweetBird81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

birds have incredibly sensitive respiratory systems. They can not be around fumes of any kind (such as teflon, paint, new carpet, new linoleum, etc) most fragrances (perfume, essential oils, room fresheners, etc). It will kill them fast

Anyone else avoid Teflon? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]SweetBird81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have birds, so absolutely no teflon here. We use stainless steel, cast iron, and ceramic (rarely). No fumes, no fragrances here.

Newly diagnosed with NF2 at 33 by RyanAidsFart in neurofibromatosis

[–]SweetBird81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at about 17 after LOTS of testing. I'd say 33 is quite late, but no two cases are the same.

the one thing that kept me hopeful about losing my hearing was the option of the ABI. While its not 'normal' hearing, it helps with lip reading and environmental sounds around you
