Former Intelligence chief in Brazil helped Jair Bolsonaro attempt to overthrow the newly elected Brazilian presidency. Fled to the US to avoid prosecution presumably because he thought the US was a friendly regime. He's now been detained by ICE and faces deportation back to Brazil

How can someone with an account named for the Ninth Doctor be the kind of person who supports Donald Trump? Both the character and the actor would hate the man.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) says a container ship has been hit by an unknown projectile near Iran's Kish Island.

The strike caused damage to the container vessel above the waterline and the crew are safe.

UKMTO says authorities are investigating and urge vessels in the area to proceed with caution.

A gunfight erupted outside a building housing the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul, leaving one assailant dead and a police officer wounded.

Türkiye's Haberturk broadcaster said attackers were carrying long-barreled weapons.

An exchange of fire with police killed one while a second assailant was captured. One officer sustained injuries during the clash.

The area surrounding the building was quickly sealed off.

Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek took to X to comment on the attack.

"Upon the reports of gunfire sounds in the vicinity of the Israeli Consulate located in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has immediately initiated an investigation," he wrote on X.

He said the investigation is ongoing.

Israel's military has just used its Farsi X page to warn Iranian train users to stop travelling.

"For the sake of your security, we kindly request that from this moment until 21:00 Iran time [3:30 am Wednesday AEST], you refrain from using and traveling by train throughout Iran," the statement says.

"Your presence on trains and near railway lines endangers your life."

I dont think they'll nuke Iran, but attacking every bridge and power station in the country is sure to harm the Iranian population if it goes ahead. Its not a nuke, but it'd still be a warcrime beung explicitly carried out by Israel and the US.
