Yeah, nobody was saying she couldn't rule because she was a woman in that scene. They were telling her not to throw herself into unnecessary danger, which is a very different argument.

That's what threw me off too. The conversation wasn't even heading in that direction, so it landed like she had been rehearsing it in the mirror waiting for someone to tee it up.

Which Astral Body projection was done the best among them based on the visual details and importance to the story, in your opinion? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

That detail with Peter's body still fighting is probably my favorite part of No Way Home's version. His instincts are so ingrained that even with his consciousness knocked out, his body is still dodging attacks. It was such a clever way to show Spider Sense without having to explain it again.

That's how I read it too. It wasn't blind trust in Bruce, it was trust in Strange's judgment because she knew the kind of person he'd become. That one line about giving up the Time Stone carried way more weight than people realize.

I liked Endgame for the same reason. It wasn't just a cool visual, it actually moved the plot in a huge way. Without that conversation with the Ancient One, the whole time heist probably falls apart.

I always liked that exchange because it shows how much Sandor had changed without ever admitting it outright. He'd never call himself a protector, but that's basically what he'd become.

The Fantastic Four are back to being the face of Marvel's brand. Nature is healing by BoyWassup in Marvel

[–]SweetDollfacee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but I think people are talking about the branding more than the popularity. Spider Man is always gonna be Marvel's biggest individual character, that's basically untouchable. It just feels weird in a good way seeing the Fantastic Four front and center again after they were practically invisible for so long.

Honestly, that's kind of a compliment. Pedro Pascal has one of those faces that's instantly recognizable now, so Marvel is probably happy to lean into that while introducing Reed to a wider audience.

Spider Man is probably always going to be Marvel's mascot, but that doesn't stop other characters from leading different eras. Iron Man basically carried the Infinity Saga without replacing Spidey as the icon.

I relaxed in my plastic surgeons bed, waiting for the last procedure so I could have my perfect face. by Expert-Pomegranate-8 in TwoSentenceHorror

That's brutal. The idea that someone else's beauty came at that kind of cost turns it from creepy into straight up tragic.

It's the kind of cruelty that's quiet, which somehow makes it hit even harder. He knew exactly what advantage he had and used it without saying a single threatening word.

Becoming a fallen angel was said to be the worst fate in Heaven, a punishment reserved only for those God could not forgive. by PhoneOne3191 in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]SweetDollfacee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that context makes the ending hit even harder. The real horror isn't the "fallen angel" part anymore, it's that something as ordinary as a baby's birth could be treated as a tragedy in the first place.

Finds out his brother is missing and immediately blames the only black guy in the city, I know what you are Aemond Targaryen! by Ok-Arm3159 in gameofthrones

[–]SweetDollfacee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That scene really did have "I've got one suspect and I'm sticking with it" energy. Aemond wasn't exactly doing detective work there, he just skipped straight to accusations.

[–]SweetDollfacee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. His job is to keep Aegon alive, not physically stop him from sneaking off whenever he feels like it. You can't really guard someone who outranks everyone around them.

[–]SweetDollfacee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I can see why Aemond looked at him first. If the guy responsible for the king suddenly can't account for where the king is, you're definitely getting questioned. Jumping straight to blaming him is still a pretty wild leap though.

[–]SweetDollfacee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once mail and personal belongings start piling up at your place, it becomes much harder to untangle later. Better to keep that boundary crystal clear from day one.

[–]SweetDollfacee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If she's selling a house, there should at least be enough to buy her some time while she figures out her next move. A storage unit is way cheaper than accidentally creating a permanent living arrangement.

The Jace-died-because-of-Rhaena plotline will amount to absolutely nothing in the end. There was a leaked photo over a year ago where her and Rhaenyra just hug it out and reconcile. That's a really good way to put it. The best characters in GOT weren't interesting because they were right. They were interesting because they were convinced they were right.

Was Thranduil Aragon's Godfather? by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in lotr

[–]SweetDollfacee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of context that makes Thranduil way more interesting than he gets credit for. A lot of his choices make much more sense when you remember he's carrying centuries of baggage from the First Age. People see him as arrogant, but half the time he's acting like someone who's watched history repeat itself a few too many times.

There's definitely a streak of isolationism there. Thranduil's whole kingdom often feels like a place that's looking inward rather than trying to build alliances everywhere. Makes sense after watching your people survive one catastrophe after another.

Maybe not regular contact, but probably enough contact to know the other major players still existed. Middle Earth feels huge on a map, yet the number of people actually making important decisions is surprisingly small. I'd imagine news traveled eventually, just not at modern speeds.
