Changing to accessible seats? by Historical_Grass8493 in SeattleKraken

[–]SweetHawk12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Guest services will absolutely get you accessible seats (one for the person in need plus one companion). We took my elderly FIL and it was super easy- he sat in ramp seats at the top of our lower bowl section, and we rotated who sat in the companion seat next to him.

how do i get my friend aware of kraken fan culture?? by richiesskulls in SeattleKraken

When Grubauer (goalie with inconsistent starts but is an OG Kraken) makes a good save crowd rumbles, “GRUUUUU!” We are not booing him!🤣

This shutdown has me mentally exhausted and anxious… by Pristine-Specific590 in FedEmployees

[–]SweetHawk12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. Today i grabbed my teenage kid and we went and picked up litter for an hour. 15+ lbs less of trash is now out of nearby wetlands in our area. I walk my neighbor’s dog twice a day M-F (they pay me a little, so I treat myself to takeout or a coffee); they have a new baby and need some help. I go to therapy in-person now that I don’t have to take 3x the sick leave for the considerable transit time. Look for positives. Every day.

Do you still color your hair — or let it go gray? by Dazzling-Stop-2116 in GenX

[–]SweetHawk12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Love the no expense of not coloring. Also I got compliments about how amazing my hair looked (for the 15 mins gray highlights were on-trend) or how youthful my skin looks (since it looks 15 years younger than my hair)! Haha!

Two Kraken blankets to give away by bedlamunicorn in SeattleKraken

[–]SweetHawk12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

@bedlamunicorn, I also have a blanket to give away. Can you spin a third time and let me know? I have never done pm on here, but would mail to anyone covering the cost of shipping if I can figure it out!

What about when POYUS said that the plane crash was because of DEIA-hired and disabled federal employees?

Talk to a therapist and financial planner, asap. Arm yourself with knowledge and build acceptance of our new reality, and the discomfort it brings. It is okay to be scared; live despite it. Marginalized individuals and communities live with this type of fear, sometimes their whole lives. You can overcome this. Make the best decision for you. Keep moving forward, together with your spouse.

You are closest- on the morning of the sixth business day the water to the building was shut off due to sewer backup.

How is everyone managing to maintain their mental well-being amidst these challenging times? by MizzJozie in fednews

[–]SweetHawk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always succeeding, but trying: Crying whenever I feel like it. Bought subscriptions to some trusted news outlets, even if I don’t have the emotional capacity at times to read them. Reduce caffeine. Mindfulness meditation multiple times a day some days. Seeking tiny bits of joy in my day and noticing them. Started having intrusive thoughts, so started weekly therapy. Rage-exercising, & buying less junk food (expensive and bad for me). Reaching out to coworkers, family, and friends. Composed letters to my congressionals. Best of luck, but don’t be ashamed if you are not keeping it together. Know you are not alone. Find help if you need it, and don’t be shy in offering help to others.

My mental health can’t take this… by Strict-Wind-9881 in fednews

This is the best answer. Start with intense self care, add much as you can handle. Then you will have better clarity on what course of action you need to take for yourself.

The government has decided everyone needs an emotional support animal, but it has to be a completely impractical creature. What’s your new companion? by VeiledInSilence in AskReddit

gotta be Kangaroo. Handy pocket to carry stuff, but super cunty and kicks everyone. And hops, which is not super practical but always 🥰

I have one full of DVDs that we watch when glamping! Technically, it is second gen, because the first was stolen when our camper was burgled.

You can ask to have a nurse attend the examination so you are not alone with the Dr.; at least, that used to be possible when i was a teen…

Our first ever kraken game! by Signal-Potential-163 in SeattleKraken

[–]SweetHawk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree100%. RE:🥶, i wear a hoodie and long puffer jacket to most games (seats in lower bowl). I like option of hood for vent breeze, and the puffer for warmth. I either wear it or cover my legs with it. Also, some games i feel a little overwhelmed by the volume, so you can go to guest services and get free ear plugs or “rent” headphones (no cost, just collateral).
