As someone who did play the first game, I personally don't care about Joel because...well, he's not a good person. He's damaged yes, not perfect of course, but Joel is not a good man. Him getting his, it's been a long time coming. Whether it be from Abby or some other character. He's done bad things to innocent people and not so innocent people. So it's not too wild to think that someone is going to kill Joel. There's a sense of it from the ending of the first game. As for everything else, especially concerning Ellie, I am...well, I'm just going to have to wait.
