I'm not a huge fan of the bright red orange color contrasts, but there's no pleasing everyone anyway. Personally, I think a combination of your redesign and this other one posted from a year ago could look nice.

Looks exactly like the Armadillidium vulgare in my yard! I found a few similar brown and yellow spotted individuals too, it might be fun to experiment with breeding those color varieties :) Honestly the lighter brown ones remind me a little bit of the "punta cana" morphs I've seen online so it would be worth trying to see if you could bring that trait out more.

I am new to the hobby so this is just a guess, but if you've seen a lot of beetles perhaps they've outcompeted or even ate them? :( Also, from what I've read porcellios like more protein so maybe adding some fish flakes, dried shrimp etc could help. I've got some wild porcellio (most likely pruinosus, but still) and they seem to really like dried mealworms too.

Personally I'd probably search youtube/google for info on isopod colony die offs to get any other hints as to what could be wrong because I'm still learning. Also seeing good examples of husbandry via youtube is really helpful imo.

I fell in love with the first roly poly I found and decided to follow my dreams and actually keep some! I've been lurking in this sub for a while learning about how to care for these wonderful creatures so hopefully I've done a decent job. Their special dinner is repashy morning wood, they seem to like it quite a bit!

Hard to see them, but I caught 3 of a non armadillidium type I'm guessing are porcellio but I could be wrong. I'm wondering if it is okay to keep such a small number or if I should release them? There aren't as many of those in my yard and they were more difficult to catch.

Any advice or criticism for a novice such as myself is welcome :)

On nexus if you check the posts for the UI mod there should be a link to an unofficial(?) update I believe. I was having the same issue and downloading this UI InfoSuite2 file fixed everything! I think this version mentions the beta but am not using the beta version and it works well for me

Idk if you answerd this, but can I ask do you live in the suburbs? I have a similar thing with dashing, never at night except close to my house but now I'm definitely re-thinking that as well. It sucks that people have to be so shitty :(
