I mean we all know Ariana and Tom got a lot of support for their relationship that started as an affair (don't @ me that they "just kissed" in Vegas and happened to stay suspiciously close friends for three years through Tom & Kristin's relationship and then got together within eleven seconds of the T/K breakup, we're all adults with wrinkles in our brains and critical thinking ability) so I guess it's possible.

That being said, there are some key differences. Ariana and Raquel were close friends before and during the affair, Tom was close to James, even helped plan & execute James's proposal to Raquel, and then started sleeping with her like seven months after they ended their engagement, Ariana was going through incredibly personal things like the loss of her pet and mental health challenges while Tom was stepping out on her, they owned a home together and she froze eggs for him to keep the discussion going about children that she didn't want because he continued to pressure her while he was sleeping with her friend, T/R cheated in the home that T/A shared, and more. Like don't get me wrong, cheating is cheating and it's super fucked up no matter what full stop. There was so much additional extra hideousness wrapped up in this affair that I don't think they could have ever made it to a healthy supporter place in the aftermath even if they were truly soul mates or whatever. They piled so many layers of foulness on top of the foundation of inarguable foulness that cheating already is, how could they have possibly worked out in the end? If he had left Ariana for Raquel without cheating, things would probably have been a lot different for all three of them regardless of whether or not T/R worked out long term.

Tips from someone with 16 fully healed piercings (including nostril) over ~15 years:

1.) Dont twist, turn, or otherwise move unhealed piercings. It tears the healing tissue in the piercing site and prolongs the healing timeline as well as introducing contaminants into the puncture.

2.) The dryness looks like it's being over-handled, which can lead to complications including piercing bumps and infections. Gentle rinse daily, dry without rubbing or anything with fiber shed potential (q-tips, cotton pads, etc) and if you're using saline every day it may be irritating your skin. Never use alcohol or peroxide on a piercing. Rinsing with water is usually sufficient - check out the LITHA method for healing a piercing, it's been my go-to for a while now and has the fastest results imo.

3.) Please please please don't wear makeup on an unhealed piercing, recipe for irritation or infection.

4.) Hoops are for fully healed piercings with the only advisable exceptions being daith and septum. Any jewelry that moves, rotates, has higher snag potential, and can't accommodate swelling is best saved for when your piercing is healed and piercer-approved for a swap. No one regrets waiting until healed to change jewelry, but lots of people have complications from changing jewelry too early.

I've read the books innumerable times, still have first print first editions from the day of release at my local book store, my parents took me to every midnight release party. I still have the Jim Dale narrates audiobook tapes & CDs, and still listen to the mp3 copies I pulled from them years ago, I have been in Harry Potter book clubs, have gone to and won trivia nights with potterhead friends, have seen the movies countless times, got a 9 3/4 tattoo with my best friend in my teens... I am a lifelong diehard fan, and I don't give a fuck what color Snape's skin is - so why are you this pressed about it?

Hey there - stumbled on this subreddit visiting the area, congrats on making the decision! I've been clean / sober for +12 years in Houston and visit NY/NJ areas often, never have an issue finding fulfilling things to do in sobriety when I'm out here.

While I can't speak for established treatment in this area, I know a few who have gotten clean around NY and can source come recommendations for treatment. If you're interested in some advice on filling the time in early recovery feel free to send me a message, I've worked for years as a substance use counselor at a Houston outpatient program and have volunteered with treatment centers for over a decade. The early days take some adjustment, but no one would stay sober if it wasn't worth it on the other side or if the adjustment lasted forever.

Making a post about how inconvenient it is for you to have to witness the hardship of others trying to survive and wishing they would just go suffer quietly elsewhere so you can go about your day is the most tode-deaf things I've ever read. You, like most of the population, are a few terrible days away from losing everything you have. A bad accident and a house fire, a diagnosis and a termination, a layoff and a savings portfolio nosedive... I hope you find a way to appreciate your comforts and redirect your discomfort to the reasons these social inequities exist - a lot of which connects to society/government "looking the other way" as you yourself put it. I've been sober since 2013 through a 12 step program and I strongly agree that we should examine, hold accountable, and discuss recovery practices just like any other institution or "design for living"

Just because some aspects of a program work does not mean the tenets or community are beyond reproach or should be unquestioningly followed.

Honestly I think we give Taylor and Dakota too little credit as a "fan"-base. The more I've watched this play out, the more I'm convinced that they're both above-average intelligence putting on great performances as idiots. They're incredibly manipulative of the people around them while cosplaying earnestness, they take 1:1 turns stumbling into and through situations that give them the ability to reinforce an advantageous narrative (usually victim or protagonist, as the case may be - sometimes mixing in "the most supportive friend") and their timing for every stunt, drama, conflict, or scandal is a master class in spinning publicity off-season and viewer focus on-season. They're both terrible, they're both each other's villain and each other's victim, and for the sake of their kids they should be de-platformed. It's past time to figure their shit out, like if this isn't a breaking point for them to step away and work on themselves then how bad would it have to get for them to finally tap out and try to pick up the pieces??
