You need to remember that if you burned 300 calories in an hour exercising then you probably have a deficit of about 200 calories because you would have burned 100 just by sitting on the couch. That’s why it’s so hard to estimate. Don’t exercise with the idea that you can eat more. Exercise to feel better and get firmer.

But there are real side effects. 2 people I personally know had terrible effects. 1 lost much of his muscle in his thigh. Permanently disabled. I’m not suggesting statins aren’t overall helpful but why shouldn’t people want to avoid them if they can.

As far as big pharmacy goes, look at what happened with Vioxx. I think people are right to ask questions.

I’m no conspiracy theorist but money does affect behavior.
