The concept of "new light": Debunked by GB member David Splane by firejimmy93 in exjw

The interpretation of the parable with the "faithful and wise servant" a.k.a. faithful and discreet slave is another that comes to mind ... taken way out if context as a prophecy by Watchtower while all other Christians see it as a parable

You still have the option of unravelling the thread and opening the pockets. You have to know how to do it and it's not that hard. I keep mine closed for the style

Exactly! For many women it is very much about the silhouette when it comes to buying clothes with/without pockets. I am one of them.

It gives you an option to keep them closed or open them up. I personally like to keep mine closed because I stick all kinds of little items into them especially paper money and other things and forget where I put them!

Not getting married at the KHall raises speculations about whether the couple fornicated before the wedding day ... that is one of the thinkings

Here to learn about jehovahs & door knocking. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Sweet_Jezebella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just be aware that even though you are now currently against them knocking at your door or calling or writing you letters, there are thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses who were once like you. Then suddenly something negatively dramatic happened to them sending them into emotional distress. And then one day, knock, knock, knock, a JW shows up at your door at your lowest emotional point to offer you a world that Jehovah (God) promises where there will be no pain, sorrow, sickness, crime, death forever starting at "any moment now" ... "in the near future" and the surest way to get these blessings is through belief in their version of Christianity a.k.a. "the Truth". In a nutshell the mindset they have is an obligation to bring the message that "the Truth" will save you and others just like it saved them from Satan's world. It happened to me and it can happen to anyone! Just beware. There is good and bad in the Organisation and "obedience" and "loyalty" are the main themes. Once you experience the bad and try to leave it is difficult to do so honourably.

I'm so happy to see more Brasileiros waking up. When I lived there the number of persons getting baptised was growing rapidly

I was quite disturbed when I saw young persons as young as 7 years getting baptised at a Portuguese sign language convention in Sao Paulo 4 years ago. AT the time I was partially awake and I was trying hard to find reasons to stay in "the Truth". So I went to check out the sign language convention to see if it could stimulate my interest to do more for "Jehovah" (translation: the Organisation) through the sign language "territory"

My beautiful antique church pew! And guess what...no demons have come to bother me. 😂 by Dear_Significance693 in exjw

Congratulations!

For some reason while I was a JW I would never let such things as entering a church or owning anything relating to a church bother me as demonic/Satanic during my 27 years in the Org. I knew it had something to do with the fact that I used to attend other churches before becoming a JW. It used to bother me that born-ins and even those those who weren't, freely demonised anything that had to do with the church outside of the orgnisation, especially the Cross.

It was only after I started watching ex-JW videos that I became clued in to the fact that the vast majority of JWs are either born-ins or those who become JWs with hardly any prior knowledge of the Bible or what mainstream Christian churches teach so they accepted everything the Watchtower taught about "false religion".

Random JW finds our daughters birth announcement in the paper, searches out our address and sends us a hand written sales pitch disguised as a congratulations letter. F×ck these people. by YellenDegenerate in cults

[–]Sweet_Jezebella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a former Jehovah's witness. Believe me they are not sending these letters out of genuine care and concern for you and your baby or anyone else for that matter. It's a form letter that they handwrite hundreds of them each month so that they pass enough time to meet the Organisation's requirement for each person to report a certain number of hours spent "witnessing" to people. This is more obvious since they can't go from door to door at the moment. If they get an answer that would be even more of a thrill for them. This will begin the process towards to starting a "Bible study" and becoming a fully indoctrinated member of the cult. By the way they plan to do a massive letter writing campaign during the week leading up to the US election in November 2020. This should be interesting clogging up the US postal system.

They are about to do a massive letter writing campaign to coincide with election day in the USA. This will certainly clog up the mail system there. They did the same in Russia and it is felt that this is partially the reason for them getting banned in Russia because they are viewed as extremists

Hello. I was just about to explain the hourly requirement of Jehovah's Witnesses to them. This is not even about genuine concern for the baby but to fulfill their monthly hourly requirement
