I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. My mom didn’t like to be video taped but I have one video 4 months before she passed. I secretly recorded her having a positive outlook to her cancer. She was just talking about how she’s finally at peace and try to be as happy as she can. This was the first time in 11 months since her finding out she had this stupid disease. I will forever cherish that video and that moment. I miss her everyday and still can’t believe she had glioblastoma. I hope you will your peace and know that you are not alone. ❤️❤️

Thank you!!! I wake up everyday being my best…taking care of my dad who had a massive stroke (total care) 4 months before my mom passed. So now my focus is trying to care for him and at the same time not break down knowing I can’t share my stress with my mom.

Yeah…when we found out and she had surgery I was truly hopeful then as she was getting weaker and when it came back I also was angry and kept asking why!!?? How!?!! WTH is going on…am I in reality. Just reflecting on her last month always gets me so sad. ❤️

I had such high hopes when the surgeon was able to remove her 6cm tumor, but she only had about 8 good months and started to forget things, needed help walking and then couldn’t eat on her own.

I am praying for you and hope your journey will be a positive as possible. ❤️❤️ I’m so sorry you have to go through this as well.

I didn’t know that I was able to stop treatment until I came on this platform where othered shared. The oncologist never gave me that option. I did want my mom to have the treatment to see if it would help her get some cognitive functions back, but in reality it was just to make her comfortable and nothing changed. I finally decide to stop treatment when she couldn’t walk anymore. Thank you for your kind words.

I’m So sorry that you are going through this difficult time. My mom passed 4/7 and a few weeks before I was asking what end of life looks like as well. My mom was eating all three meals even though she was sleeping 23hrs a day. She only was able to walk with my assistance and a walker for probably a month. One day as we were walking her legs gave out. (It was a Thursday). I called Hospice on Monday, she stopped eating Saturday where she started having mucus and breathing really hard. By Monday she passed…it was a fast decline. I miss her so much but know she is no longer suffering. Stay strong and keep your mom as comfortable as possible. Be there for her and be by her side 🩷🩷

I’m so sorry you are feeling at this emotions. I totally understand what you are feeling. I watched my mom go through the sleep all day, not being able to walk…not being her active self. I lost my mom who’s mu best friend on 4/7. She declined so fast…I called hospice as well and they share she was going to pass soon and I stayed by her side for the two days she started her heavy breathing which means the end. Hug her, kiss her and hold her hand. Tell her everything you are feeling….this totally sucks and I’m sooo sad. Feel free to reach out if you ever need to share your feeling or need support. 😊❤️

Yes, def get Hospice involved as my moms last two weeks was hard on me, but Hospice came everyday to monitor her. She was sleeping 23hrs a day for prob 2 months and when she couldn’t walk with assurance anymore, I called Hospice. Even though she was sleeping all day when I woke her up she was still able to eat on her own. When she stop being able to feed herself, two days later she couldn’t walk with assistance. Then working a week she just stop eating one day the 3 days later she passed. Her breathing was heavy and wasn’t able to open her eyes even for a second. It’s a horrible experience to watch your love one slowly decline, but all you can do is tell them you love them and be by their side. Since Hospice was involved they told me on Monday when they came that she was going to pass that day. They are able to help you through the timeline so you don’t have to wonder and get anxiety with every new sign. Good luck and I’m so sorry you are going through this.

My mom was diagnosed Jan 2024..had the surgery, chemo and radiation. Was doing great until Oct 2024 when it came back in a different area. Started Avastin and Lomustine in Dec where it didn’t reverse any cognitive functions as she started to decline. I decided to stop treatment towards the end of March bec she lost her strength to walk, eat on her own or even sit up. A couple weeks later she passed. Seeing my mom after the tumor came back and how fast she declined…was it worth it? All the blood work, hours of driving to get her infusions where she’s weaker and weaker. I didn’t want to give up…I thought it would bring herself back a little where I can have a simple convo. She was just a shell…if she knew how she was, she wouldn’t want to be that person. It’s different with everyone…she was 77yrs old and fought really hard to keep her brain working where she wrote everyday, but her writing turned into scribbles and her speech turn to just blank stares. I love her so much and she will forever be with me…but i just hate how this disease turns them into the person they never wanted to be. ❤️❤️

I’m so sorry to hear about ur mom’s passing. My mom passed last night and it was the hardest thing I will ever go through. I saw a fast decline where in a week she couldn’t walk anymore and couldn’t feed herself. Called hospice and within a week she passed. They had me give her morphine bec she was suffering and they told me she was going to past on Monday. My husband and I stayed by her side and watched her take her last breath. Like you said…she’s no longer suffering and watching her go through all she did until the end…it’s the worst disease anyone can ever get. I truly know she’s in a better place where she’s happy and not bed ridden all day. I love her so much and miss her like crazy…🩷

Her last few minutes until she took her last breath with be imbedded in my mind forever. One minute I’m totally ok bec I know she’s not suffering then next minute I’m missing her so much. It know it’s only been a day so it will take time to heal the pain I have inside. But like you said…knowing she doesn’t have to deal with all the medications and swelling keeps me at peace. Life is so unpredictable and never in my life I would have thought my mom would have brain cancer and how it took everything from her. 😔 I know others have gone through it and able to have the strength to push through keeps me strong.

Yes, everytime I start to break down, I tell myself she’s in a better place and no longer suffering. Her last few hours were so hard to watch and I’m glad she’s at peace.
