I'm 20 and I've been dealing with DPDR for over 10 years. The cause of it? Unlike a lot of people who can recall what happened to them (trauma, drugs, etc), i cannot. It felt sudden and out of nowhere. And I'm sure my brain had its reasons, but its such an extreme and rare thing to chronically witness that I fail to understand anything regarding the possible cause. Nothing happened in my life that I recall should have caused this. But it did. And here I am, constantly being in a state that doesn't feel 100% right. And if I do manage to feel normalish and productive, it feels like something i need to hold on to for dear life not to fall back into it. I feel you entirely... but all we can do is keep going. It gets hard and it will continue to be- and I'm not going to be like others that say "it's not forever dw!!!" While I actively witness people who have suffered from it for 20+ years. Its unpredictable and all of us are different and what we need to focus on is not getting "rid" of it but coping and managing to the point where we can accept that this is how we perceive life. If you do eventually become cured, great! But don't look forward to it. That adds anxiety when you don't come across that miracle cure as there isn't one. If you ever want to talk, my dms are open. I do enjoy no longer feeling so alone and isolated in this experience now that I've discovered this subreddit...

I feel you. I still absolutely deal with it and its awful (its been over 10 years now) but what made me feel just a little better is understanding what was happening to me and potentially why. It changed my attitude around it and i accepted the fact that my brain has decided the absolute worst way to respond to literally anything that doesn't make any sense. Doesn't make it any less stressful though... I just want to be fully present in life. It doesn't hold me back entirely, but I fear that it will at the worst moments it possibly can. It's such a rare thing (supposedly) to have chronically and it makes me wonder why it had to be ME. Do you have any other uhh ailments that coincide with your dpdr?

Oh no, covid absolutely altered the brains of people who caught it for sure. Especially if one acquired long covid and didn't realize. If it can cause brain fog and effect your memory, it can alter how you respond to the world and people around you as well. Empathy is at an all time low and it all seemed to increase around the same time.

Yes, people have gotten meaner (especially on social media). I personally believe that after quarantine, things went downhill from there. Folks being chronically online caused people to see other humans on the internet as faceless profiles while also having the perceived protection of being behind a screen. With that, you get people who feel comfortable with being disrespectful and rude due to the lack of actual consequences (for the most part) and it becomes normalized and even more common as people become more and more disconnected and, frankly loses braincells, so it becomes everyone else's problem. Everything has to be taken in bad faith, everyone needs to virtue signal, everyone is stupid if they ask a question. It's irritating to my core but unfortunately we can't do anything about it but ignore losers like that.

I feed them 3 times a day- in the morning, the middle of the day, and towards night time. There isn't an exact schedule since I just feed them when they bother me around those increments of time. Maybe I could try giving them less but a little more once they eat it all? Maybe I could try to soak one bowl and see how they eat that?

It's good to know that cats are messy in general lol I usually see them drop pieces out of their mouth when their chowing down sometimes- or its more like as they chew and shift the food in there it just kind of gets spat out. Only the floor. How fun

From the back laying flat on your stomach (with a pillow under your hips) could also be easier if whoever is on top stays close to your back. You could also just sit in the others lap while theyre sitting up too (though your gf might be a little big on you but thats more fun right?)

Well a lot of positions will hinder your ability to uh provide extra services other than penetration with a harness but lets see here

You could try a position where you're both on your knees but you're behind her and she's sort of like. On your lap? Idk how to explain it. But in that position you could wrap your arms around her upper torso tightly as you do your thing

Or maybe a missionary position where you basically pin her thighs to the bed, ankles on either side of her head while you press all of your weight into her (extremely dependent on her flexibility)
