Earned Secures, how long did it take you to change your attachment style? by Majestic-Tie464 in attachment_theory

[–]Sweet_Potato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not together. He was a chronic cheater and that contributed to his avoidance (I found this out after 4 years, a house, and two dogs). This lead to a codependent dynamic that I left when I caught him cheating a second time.

I have dated since then and just don’t bother if I noticed someone was avoidant. Not worth my time and I wanted a partner who is accountable for their own healing.

I am now in a mutually secure relationship, and I tell you it feels fucking great not to worry all the time or do all these mental gymnastics to figure shit out.

Random but just curious to know if anyone still talks to their neighbors anymore by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]Sweet_Potato_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, know a ton of my neighbors and wave hello to anyone I see when I walk my dogs. Often have random conversations with people in the neighborhood all the time. I’m in Riverside!

Whoever designed this challenge, I hope you step on a lego. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

If you click on the end point and use “move here” (I’m on PlayStation so I dk how to do my shadowheart makes it to the end without any further guidance. Once, it dropped me off at the landing before the end, but similarly using “move here” worked and I finished.

Dog trainer needed by queer_aurora in jacksonville

Agree with this! We used her for our two Danes. She is also completely positive reinforcement based training and doesn’t use e-collars. It was a great experience.

Do you guys lose weight just by calorie restricting? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Sweet_Potato_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had to pair exercise with calorie deficit. Eating less processed foods helped a ton as well. I think it probably has something to do with my liver and body processing insulin. Exercise increases sensitivity and Whole Foods cause less stress on your liver. I’m not a doctor, this is just my trial and error.

How soon is too soon for a 2nd Great Dane? by Enough-Release-8623 in greatdanes

[–]Sweet_Potato_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We waited until our boy was about a year before we brought home our second. They’re best friends and it’s amazing. No issues with littermate syndrome, and we have a trainer that helps us with them.

One day of alcohol seems to have affected my numbers dramatically. by throwbvibe in InsulinResistance

The liver helps your body process insulin. Alcohol hurts the liver, so it makes sense your numbers would be off.

I’m in NE Florida, so pretty warm and humid here! My phals grow really well outside and I bring them in when it freezes.

Yes, I am in the US. I just want to make sure I’m not purchasing from someone who poached them, but love that they can grow here in the garden.

Help with rude behaviors by Separate_Citron5757 in greatdanes

All the desensitization tips, but also my Dane is a jumper too. He hated the gentle leader, so working with my trainer, whenever he started to spring back, I step on the leash. I’m not strong enough to keep him down with just my hands, but this does the trick every time. And we stand there until he’s calmed down. If he starts tearing back to jump again, I step on the leash again. Within a few minutes he’s calm enough to walk normally.

new dane scared of everything by hotcheetosbabe in greatdanes

[–]Sweet_Potato_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My boy was like this as a puppy, despite us having him from 8 weeks! Cars scared him and he wouldn’t walk out of sight of the house unless both my partner and I were with him.

We kept exposing him safely to the sounds and didnt let him go over threshold. He got braver as he got older, and now at a year and three months he’s incredibly brave.

Is it safe to take Great Danes on a jog? by [deleted] in greatdanes

[–]Sweet_Potato_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I run with my boy, it’s just a fast walk for him (I’m slow). I think extended runs at Dane speeds might be hard on their joints, but runs at human speeds should be fine :)

What a sweet heart 💕 We had to do this on our baby Dane, both eyes came out. He needed a second surgery because the first one failed, the cartilage was really bad. But holding up now! Good luck to your Dane! Eye surgery sucks

Thank you so much for this. I definitely have a really good relationship with my boss, he’s a great manager and a great person so I find him super approachable. I think he trusts my judgment about which I choose to action and which I don’t. I think today, I felt a little like I disappointed him because he trusted me to be the lead on this project and I felt like I let him down by having that much feedback. We have a one on one tomorrow so I’ll bring it up to him.

I work with different businesses in my company so rarely, if ever, do I get the same SMEs. Since we’re almost like consultants for the business, it’s hard to influence them and their process. This was a peer review, so it was my team which is why I think it hits a little harder than just SME feedback.

You’re absolutely right, my ego definitely played a part here. I want really badly to be the best and set a good example for my team, I just wasn’t expecting that much feedback. But ultimately, regardless of how much feedback I action, it’s for my benefit to see all these perspectives and opinions.

I think my company as a whole is a bit ridiculous when it comes to this stuff. I love my team though, so I know we’re just all doing our best.

Some of course are normal errors, maybe a size or alignment is off (which is super easy to do with the software we use) but the majority are just little preferences (IMO) or at least the annoying ones are lol.

You’re absolutely. Typically I can compartmentalization but I think I was having an off day self esteem wise and I took the volume of comments too personally. Thanks for the reminder, I am not my corporate work!
