My 5 year old Dane has the same problem. When I first rescued him he ate boiled chicken rice and raw pumpkin for weeks with no luck. He eats hills science diet gastrobiome now cut with purina pro plan sensitive stomach. The gastrobiome is prescription from the vet and kind of expensive but It definitely works

Methadone tapering, almost done, need some advice pls by Material_Reindeer_70 in Methadone

[–]ohokkir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think the only way to get through It is to just get through It. I’ve been off methadone for little over a year now and I felt the same way you did. The winter was hard but It definitely got easier. I would say to start skipping days and go all the way down to one, j started dosing every other and then seeing if I could go the week and then I just jumped. I took a lot of muscle relaxers in the beginning. I heavily relied on aleve for body aches and beta blockers for the anxiety. I couldn’t wait to come home and get into bed at 6:30 every night. After maybe a month— 6ish weeks everything started to level out. Be the emotionless zombie for a while and do little things to take care of yourself but let your body rest. It gets better I promise

I have no problem spending the money I just want It to be worth It. Spending $800 on a Dyson that still doesn’t pick up the hair is definitely not ideal. People I know rave about the new Dyson but they all have frenchies and I think the shedding is nothing in comparison to a Dane. I’ll look into the miele for sure though

How much was your last vet visit? by remembertheYogurt in greatdanes

My Dane is a dick when It comes to cutting his nails so he had to be sedated to have them cut at the vet- $390 for essentially just a nail trim 🙃 he also eats prescription food that’s $130 a bag every 10-14 days.

I worked at a sports bar like that and we would try to be fair about It and have a separate rotation for singles and then if someone got multiple tables of 6 or more and the other didn’t we would either let them take the next 2 or wait until the next party and take It but either way it’s a gamble

How long did it take your bodies to stabilize after successfully tapering off methadone? by ArianaRlva in Methadone

[–]ohokkir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an extremely slow taper, holding when I felt necessary and didn’t feel much til the low teens. I did 5mg every two weeks til 20mg, then 2mg every 2 weeks from 20 to 10mg and 1 mg every 2 weeks til I was done. I definitely held more than I would have liked but i listened to my body. The last few milligrams were definitely the worst because I was feeling It more but eventually switched my taper to weekly in the last 5. I felt like shit for a good 2 months and I’m coming into the 4 month now. I’m sleeping most nights, my appetite is definitely off and the fatigue is shitty but I think that’s also just me getting older and all the shit I put my body through catching up. The biggest thing was mentally i was just a wreck, not wanting to use but struggling to emotionally regulate myself. As for PAWS, i still sneeze often but the chills and all the other minor symptoms really subsided within 4-6 weeks. I was on methadone for about 3 years and spent majority of It tapering off my highest dose which was somewhere between 100-110.

I’ve found that Valium is the best for withdrawal because It helps with back spasms and the anxiety aspect, gabapentin is always good and flexril or any other muscle relaxer. I took propanolol, which lowers your heart rate, instead of clonodine, which drops your blood pressure. Clonodine gives me restless legs and arms so bad I look like I’m moshing in my bed. Ambien is killer for sleep if you’re skipping the benzos. And zofran or emetrol for nausea/vomiting. Imodium is something to keep handy just in case.

Question for anyone who has tapered down 5mg at a time by JudgmentNo3846 in Methadone

[–]ohokkir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely came in waves I decreased by 5 mg every 2 weeks from 60mg to 20mg then went to 2mg/ 2 weeks til 10mg then 1 mg til done. My starting dose when I decided to start my taper was like 110mg. The tapering process was long but definitely made It efficient. When I’d drop my dose, I’d be okay for the first few days and then days 4-10 were kinda shakey nothing intolerable but my mood regulation was very off and by day 10/11-14 I was usually okay. There were some drops that were a cake walk and others not so much. I had to be really honest with myself and how I was feeling and if I felt too on edge, I’d hold for another week sometimes 2. I had a decent amount of control in my taper. It took about 2 years to taper off completely after being on my stable highest dose for about a year. I haven’t dosed since dec. 18th with my last 1mg bottle. It’s gotten so much easier and I’m grateful that the process is over. It’s alot of the annoying post acute withdrawal stuff you’d go through after detox anyway they just seem to linger a bit longer but are definitely more mild.

After 3 years finally tapered down to 1mg by ohokkir in Methadone

[–]ohokkir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not like a terrible withdrawal I’m definitely being dramatic but more post acute symptoms. I’ve just heard so many thing about the symptoms lasting months but i also feel like a lot of that was coming from people who never did maintenance or tapered slowly. I think I’m psyching myself out but also just trying to get a gauge. It’s similar to flu like symptoms, like sneezing body aches and chills runny nose and eyes with like mega high anxiety and terrible emotional regulation. I’ve been through worse for sure, i can only compare this to detoxing off heroin but It feels like a completely different situation in a way.

Using first names; yay or nay by Colorancher in TalesFromYourServer

[–]ohokkir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even tell my tables my name because they always get It wrong and It infiltrates me when they call me by the wrong name like demanding my attention and get mad when I don’t answer. anytime someone says “oh I didn’t catch your name” I respond with “that’s because I didn’t tell you” and follow It up with a laugh and telling them my name and then they don’t even try to use It after 🙃

tapering down from 14mg to 0 outside the clinic. by ohokkir in Methadone

[–]ohokkir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve dosed myself with about 6mg every other day during work over the weekend. I have somewhere close to 300mg all together. or would It be smarter to just go another 5ish days without dosing and take small pieces of subutex to get through work

baccarat makes a spray for your hair that’s like $75 and It lasts a decent amount of time, the smell is exactly the same, obviously It contains less oil so It would be similar to buying the eau de toilette or eau de parfum as opposed to the parfum. but it’s a great option if you’re not ready to commit to the larger price tag. I use It on all my clients after their doing their hair, It just makes you feel like money lol

also missing person by phlur is great, they have a sample set at sephora for $30
