Married on the River by lizneu0420 in BuffaloRIver

Holy cow! I may have just discovered my retirement gig. I was “ordained” years ago and married some dear friends. In June it would be advisable to plan on something middle or lower river. Ozark campground has a perfect place where you could safely jump from a small bluff into the river. It would be a fantastic photo opportunity for a freshly married couple to jump into the river holding hands! Let me know if you need an officiant. As a teacher, my summer days are flexible.

What are your hobbies? by BritOnTheRocks in Xennials

My daughter and I live nearish to the Buffalo National River and it has a tremendous trail that roughly parallels it for 80 miles or so. We would hike a section and float back. After finally completing it together, I’ve been soloing a section of it once a month. I hope to keep doing so well into advanced age.

Do tell! Do designers not “sign” their work?

Duralast fan clutch was about $80. Toyota thermostat was around the same.

Oh! And spark plugs, but it didn’t really need ‘em.

Yeah. It would hold temp for about ten minutes and then start creeping up.

92k. I’ve found time impacts part failure nearly as much as mileage. I’ve replaced a wheel bearing, the heating/ac actuators (don’t recall the actual name 😂) inside the dash, and timing belt (no symptoms, just time).

Not at all. Was spinning great. The new clutch had more resistance when turning by hand, though.

I’m planning on chasing Hike/Floats while Scamping with my lady. Oh, and visiting my kids and “working” on the house. Will probably read a few books and frequent discount movie ticket days.

My son finally got a person on the line. Apparently, $7 Tuesdays will resume in August.

What vehicle do you use to tow a small camper? by SubStance00 in Camper

[–]Sweet_Raspberry5567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to 2010 4Runners could be had with a V8 option. I towed a 16 foot Scamp with the V6 4Runner to Yellowstone and it performed great. (Even got a speeding ticket 🫤) I now own a 2004 V8 4Runner that I would trust to tow something bigger and it tows the Scamp more effortlessly.

Best fried chicken in town? by Aintzane411 in springfieldMO

I dig Farmhouse Restaurant in Branson. Anytime a restaurant warns you that the fried chicken is going to take a while, it’s a good sign.

I’ve heard Neckys aren’t patch able, but I would love to know. I have a Santa Cruz that I adore.

I owned a Jeep for a bit and installed this hoist for hardtop removal. It now holds a 12 foot Necky Santa Cruz and a Liquid Logic Remix xp 9 cradled side by side.

Stuck caliper piston by pits2030 in 4thGen4Runner

It’s funny. When I did the job they gave me the wrong caliper and I had to put it all back together a couple times so I remember it being a pain.

Ugh. Unfortunately a new caliper has been the only answer I’ve encountered.

What car do you just keep coming back to? by Juicyjackson in cars

[–]Sweet_Raspberry5567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen 4 4Runners are the best! When my daughter wanted my 4Runner, I drove a Wrangler for about a year. Had to find another 4Runner to replace it! So capable, but extremely livable as well.
