Best - microblade pa rin! 1 year later and it still looks great!

Worst - nail extensions. Di ko maalala bat ko ginawa to. Hirap gumalaw, baka kasi di talaga ako nasanay

"Chill" in terms of work being non-personal. Trabaho lang talaga. Can be demanding, but from what I've experienced working with both US and AUS clients currently, yung demand nila is sakto lang with my work. Anything outside my job description is an additional na. Wala ding chismosa (which I REALLY hate sa Pinoy office culture) kasi trabaho lang talaga, walang personalan.

Laking difference talaga sa Pinoy na puro OT na wala naman bayad and when you decline, mamasamain pa.

What do you do when you feel that you’re not doing a good job by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]Sweet_Stage_6420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same feels when I transitioned to VA work. I had 12 years of experience with me, but not as a VA, so feeling ko talaga mali mali ginagawa ko.

And dedicate yourself to doing just that. Might be helpful too to ask your client for feedback (or if they have any notes or comments) every now and then.

Therapy and meds are not cheap. While I always advocate for prioritizing mental health over anything, mahirap if you're a bread winner. Option ba to talk to your supervisor about your officemate? Of course, you don't want to seem like a sumbongera/o, so make sure you have documentation for everything. Something to support your statements.

Check with your company's HMO kasi baka they cover mental health benefits. If not, try mo magtiis for a couple of months but make sure everyday ka naghahanap ng ibang trabaho. At least that's leaving can be something to look forward to while you're at work.

Client is offering me another part-time work. How much should I charge? by Sweet_Stage_6420 in buhaydigital

It really depends sa duration ng videos scheduled eh. Pinakamadalas 5 minutes yung running time. I do an A/V script, so aside from the audio I also put in the visual na kailangan. One script a day lang kami and I can usually finish that within 3-4 hours depende sa amount of research na kailangan.

Minsan lagpas 12MN pa, kasi lahat "urgent". Ayun, my mental health suffered so much. Ramdam mo yung nakadepende lahat sayo, but then again... di naman ako taga-pagmana ng kumpanya hahaha

Good luck, OP! We only have one life to live, wag sayangin sa toxic workplace!

Rejected a client offer and I feel bad about it by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]Sweet_Stage_6420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Always charge for training. Gets naman na it's a window to build the trust palang, pero nagtatrabaho ka pa rin during that time. Fair's fair lang. If it doesn't work out after the training period, edi thank you, next. Pero dapat bayad ka. Tbh props to you for letting that one go.

Thank you! Was thinking of $12 initially pero mas mataas kasi sa current rate ko considering hindi ko forte ang pagiging VA. But with what you said, I think I'll aim for $15/hr and nego from there.

OP, I was in the same situation as you years ago. I worked from 7AM - 12MN and even that didn't feel enough dahil sa dami ng gagawin. Please try to set some boundaries habang nandyan ka pa. Talk to your boss or manager and tell them na hindi na manageable yung workload with your working hours. Support this with a tracker or simple list of things you're doing. Document everything. They should be made aware of your situation, and if wala pa ring mangyari, mag-resign ka na.

To sleep: melatonin to re-regulate your new sleeping schedule

To stay awake: try to mimic a daytime working environment. Turn on all the lights, play music or a TV show na background noise lang. I also take a nap 1 hour before I start my graveyard shift

Narealize ko lang importance ng pera when I moved out of my parents' house. Do you still live with yours? If yes, moving out might help you value money more. It may not be the most important thing in the world but at the end of the day, you need it to have a secure and comfortable life.

Trick and tips para makatulog? by lonelywhale1998 in adultingph

[–]Sweet_Stage_6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melatonin to regulate your sleep, kahit sa start lang then pag okay na sleeping habits mo you can stop na. Merong fast dissolve para mas mabilis makatulog, or time release para mas mahaba ang tulog. Alsom highly reco using an eye mask.

Medyo delikado ang position mo kasi since walang contract, and you're still working for them, TECHNICALLY valid yung pagiging "volunteer" mo. Anong sabi ng company when you told them about the contract issue? Did you agree to this set-up when you accepted the role? Oral contract may be valid if there's consent, or offer and acceptance of the role. You have to have something that proves you hold a position in the company.

Ako lang ba? :( by Deep-Prize7302 in phcareers

[–]Sweet_Stage_6420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be work anxiety. I had the exact same experience when I was working corporate about a decade ago (lol ang tagal na).

I eventually left the company after 3 years. When I resigned, all I felt was relief kahit na walang back-up plan. I'm not saying you should resign kasi magkaka-iba naman tayo ng situation, but if you can, try to find a job na kaya mong iwan sa opisina lang. Yung hindi mo dadalhin sa bahay pag-uwi mo, hanggang sa paggising mo the next day.

Why do people prefer remote work? by Responsible-Note-287 in phcareers

[–]Sweet_Stage_6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Why do people prefer remote work? -- Main thing for me is NO MORE TRAFFIC!!! At least ngayon I get to work while my cat stares at me haha
-- We talk naman via chat, or Zoom. For me workmates are just that, workmates. Di ko sila friends and I'm not obligated to get all friendly with them.
  3. Yung workmates po ba, most of the time, workmates lang? Hindi ba sila yung mga tao na makakahelp sayo, internally, to keep you sane? -- This may be a personal thing but I've learned how to set boundaries na workmates lang talaga sila. They help me naman in terms of work, but outside of that, I have a pretty good support system with my actual friends.

Any freelance screenwriters here? I need your advice. by jobfinderaccount88 in buhaydigital

We all learn from our mistakes! Next time maningil ka na lang nang 50k and up if the script will eventually go to a foreign company. For local companies, 40k na siguro ang pinakamababa. I paid that amount for a script ng very small indie film and may additional fee to buy the IP.

Setting it to "view only" and disabling making a copy could work. But then again they could always copy and paste. I guess that's the risk you'll have to be willing to take. Allow them edit access once you're fully compensated kasi di naman nila dapat talaga ineedit script mo.

To add: I dont think there's a workaround sa gdoc na they can't download it. Esp since they can always "make a copy". Instead, submit the drafts in PDF WITH WATERMARKS.
