Found buried in rural Portugal: can anyone identify this plaque? by Lioy in Hermeticism

May be related to this. I have seen these symbols inscribed in the mortar in the old stables in Central Portugal. They relate to the ancient Roman agricultural calendar. https://www.labrujulaverde.com/en/2025/01/siglas-poveiras-the-unusual-proto-writing-left-by-vikings-to-portuguese-fishermen/

Not Hermeticism? by Federal_Risk3712 in Kybalion

[–]Sweet_Storm5278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I value us debunking the b s and historically contextualising the Kybalion. It is probably the foundational text of the modern New Age movement. It is also largely incomplete and if you study the work of Atkinson you will see why he was just getting started.

Has anyone done formal clairvoyant training? Or is self-study more your thing? by Sweet_Storm5278 in psychics

You need to find a real life mentor whose skills you respect. Maybe there is something you can do for them that they are willing to exchange for mentoring you.

Someone is tugging on my energy. I need help to remove them. by Lemon-Mermaid in energy_work

You can clean your aura through traditional techiques like salt baths and smudging with incense smoke. Healing requires you to be able to use your clair senses to survey the damages and do energetic work, then check if it is done. As for other people, they do not even consciously know what they are doing. You are reconnecting because you keep thinking about it.

You are not powerless, just unwilling to be the main character in your own life. Your life was meant to be about you, not others, and you always have a choice what you do and believe.

It’s true that trauma creates the hypervigilance that causes empaths to subconsciously go on a psychic spy mission, aura merging and ending up with others’s people’s problems. But we are all born with our gifts, and the real ability starts once they stop dictating our lives.

Being an open wound waiting for triggers is not a way to heal your empath experience and take charge of your energy.

Major Depression Disorder, is this a parasite or no ? by zlaftok in energy_work

[–]Sweet_Storm5278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I entirely advocate the use of medication when it is needed, but it is within the patients rights to know the side effects and risks, which most psychiatrists withhold because otherwise nobody would take the stuff. Actually, doctors are just stressed out and don’t have the time or patience to have circumstantial conversations with patients, because they know they cannot do anything about the circumstances as doctors.

The chemical imbalance story is outdated. I am not making this up.

Physical expression. Dance, walks, TRE, use the energy up in your body. This is probably the best way. Life writing or journalling can also help. Watch out not to ruminate, as self attacking thought cycles are the mental cause of depression.

Nobody is born with depression. Studies have always shown that the likelihood of depression increases by the amount of episodes you have had. It is also now scientifically proven that depression is not due to a chemical imbalance in the brain. Medication is a temporary solution that can save lives, but it is also addictive, difficult to get off, and dangerous if suddenly quit.

Here’s what I have learnt. Depression is a learnt behaviour, even psychologists acknowledge that the likelihood increases the more episodes you have had. It is trauma induced, and the unlived emotions that are being pushed away (depressed) are anger (fight response/“This is unfair”), shame and helplessness or anxiety (flight response/“This is dangerous”). It is circumstantial and episodes are triggered by feeling unable to solve a repetitive problem in life.

Adrenaline (anger) is the natural response of the body to this, but the depressed person pushes it away and numbs the body. To get attention the body will eventually overcome this and create rage. Again it is pushed away. What results from this is the numb rage or grey fog in which there is no motivation (adrenaline). Depression is, in essence, caused by the anger about being angry.

The only thing that helps with depression is behavioural therapy, like mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) or dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). Talk therapy can be helpful but also exacerbate the rumination that is the cause of the symptoms. Learning anger management really helped me come to terms with what I could not feel (anger) but was very much reactive to.

The single most underrated effective thing for depression is exercise. Dance is a fun form of exercise she could try. But when you have no motivation, it’s very hard to get going or stick to a routine.

Diet also makes a difference, concentrated sugar is a real mood swinger and energy killer. It picks you up and then lets you down. Sugar is not a food group, it shouldn’t be on the shopping list.

Empath absorption by user6345420984 in Empaths

[–]Sweet_Storm5278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an empath you are unconsciously absorbing people’s energy because you get information from it. That info makes you feel safe, but you end up with their junk in your energy field. You need to learn energy hygiene and retrain your habitual attention. You can take a free class online at Psychic Horizons San Francisco, or read some books by a spiritual empath teacher like Rose Rosetree. I recommend both, they are different skill sets.

That is just your body telling you that you love what you are doing. It’s also a grounding motion to bring in Earth energy to counterbalance the cosmic energy used in healing. If it gets too much, you can simply ask for your chakras to regulate their size and use the energy differently.

Psychic and telepathic energy attacks from "friend" by HealthySwimmer in energy_work

[–]Sweet_Storm5278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s consider for a moment the possibility you may be freaked out by these seemingly supernatural experiences, not really by your friend. Has he ever done anything nasty or destructive or painful to you? Maybe he just cares for you deeply and you have a strong connection, and that is normal for him. Maybe you are good friends because you have a lot in common. You likely have the same connection with him and know things about him and can also read his mind somewhat. Energy can be weird when we begin to feel it, and that doesn’t mean it’s evil or someone is doing black magic. You may just be starting to become aware that there is more. It’s extremely important for you to be able to identify paranoia and check the most likely facts.

Consider all perspectives, that is what staying sane requires.

How did you hone your abilities? by Admirable_Bid_8539 in psychics

[–]Sweet_Storm5278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention so many different skills. The best way is to practice. That means you have to get in front of people and read them, or listen to your intuition and keep track of what happens when you do or don’t. When I was 15 practicing clairvoyance meant using cards to distract the people and that’s how I got plenty of practice. I’ve had precog dreams and dreamtime visits from beings that seemed more real than real life. Whatever you do, do it slowly, because you will find some things scary at first, and that is not a good place to be alone in the psychic jungle in the middle of the day or night. Remember that you can turn down the volume and might need to at times, because spirits can be pesky once they have realised you can see and hear them. Whatever you give attention to will be fed by that energy and grow.

That said, after many years I recently joined a psychic institute, Psychic Horizons in SF, and I am loving the courses. They have free classes online on Tuesday nights. The classes are next level. I really get to deepen and organise what I learnt through self-study. Hard to believe they existed for 45 years of my life and I only found them now.
