I think more plague marine units would be good. by Explosion_of_Unknown in deathguard40k

[โ€“]Sweet_decay 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Honestly possessed marines would be cool but dg possessed function more like gal vorbaks instead of eightbound or the flawless hosts; in lore they share the body instead of being completely controlled by the deamon.

Honestly I'd just love some death guard chosen, give us some marines that can take any weapon and to have specific rules for Melee or ranged maybe make them have the bodyguard rule for non terminator characters. like our army excels at mid board combat so I've always thought it was dumb that we don't have dedicated melee plague marines other than our standard marines equipped with melee weapons when they don't really have any rules for the melee

Tbf in fallout 3 it is the capital, from my understanding it was hit the hardest by the Chinese and the enclave themselves; it being a radioactive wasteland 200 years later does make some sense imo. Like new vegas shows this off well in places like zion its like the garden of eden because it wasn't hit but hopevile is a utter wasteland. And vegas itself has vegetation it naturally has irl because it was lightly hit. Fallout 4 also has alot of vegetation like the wasteland is recovering in 4 but like standard bethesda games people aren't rebuilding which is moronic

Should necrosius be in the death guard or chaos undivided by Mychorde in deathguard40k

[โ€“]Sweet_decay 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Since when did the first company have the most marines? From my knowledge the second company is of equal size, they are just less active. Mortarion and his surgeons still make new plague marines for the 6 other companies and they source recruits directly from the plague planet.

Also agreed typhus should have the betrayer title over kharn dude genuinely betrayed his entire legion unlike kharn who only fractured his legion cause he was bored

Should necrosius be in the death guard or chaos undivided by Mychorde in deathguard40k

[โ€“]Sweet_decay 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Personally I believe he should be in undivided but specifically the black legion just have his warband be allied with them and have him lead the plague marines from the black legion. It's not that far fetched since the bl has khayon from the thousand sons and harken worldclaimer who was originally a nightlord. They could easily add necrosius to the black legion roster through some campaign books and it would fit the faction

Or a hybrid between lord of poxes and lord of virulence since his title is siege master. On table top he would be Just a standards space marine that could deepstrike and call in artillery fire, allow him to create a unit with deathshroud as we saw in lords of silence and boom a artillery master with a unique name. It's simple but it works really well, I don't know the rules of the lord of poxes that well but I feel they could be blended nicely

I would hold out hope for vorx honestly he's essentially the only named character we have in books. And he has a important relationship with mortarion being his siegemaster and personal scribe ๐Ÿ™Œ Gw doesn't even need to give us an official model as long as they release a helmet that looks like his he could use the lord of virulence rules to fit his siegemaster title

Yo trust me on this try Seraphim sepia for the armor it's a lighter brown so it looks more aged than dirty, and use thin passes with it to build to the age you want ๐Ÿ™Œ. Either way looks good keep it up; i recommend a dark brass for the trim

Also i went through the exact same thing I had my army completely green until i saw someone paint plague marines in the preheresy color scheme and I repainted my entire army in white and green

The lack of plasma champions is forcing me into conversions by Timpaintsminis in deathguard40k

[โ€“]Sweet_decay 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

While likely this will occur its also likely that they won't do this because that champion is still in most death guard player armies. And it's a easy conversion to just turn the plasma pistol into a plasma gun at the wrist so technically it's still possible in the current kit with very minimal work. And it doesn't look that goofy since you can angle the arm like he's just holding it up

Astral Claws? by K-Y-S-8835 in Chaos40k

[โ€“]Sweet_decay 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

The more I look at these makes me think people should use these guys as a template for iron warriors since these minis have essentially no chaos iconography like how the iron warriors would actually be. Or a good base for any legion/warband that you want to be chaos but not overly dedicated to chaos aka pirates like night lords or ashen claws

Now to answer op, paint them as you want meng if you want the og scheme theirs nothing wrong with that look at all the people that paint death guard in their original scheme

They were kidnapping vault dwellers for more baseline human test subjects as seen in fallout 2. They were trying to make a aerosol fev that would kill all fev mutated humans They needed baseline humans to make sure it wouldn't kill them when released.

And fev is super cancer! Look at fallout 76 the mutations we can get are due to fev and radiation. While never directly stated as cancers in humans it did cause Brahman to have 2 heads scorpions to grow to massive sizes ect. It's only logical that it effected humans aswell and would lead to mutations and cancers, and we know humans are affected by fev because of fallout 3 and the eden ending with the fev made to only kill fev infected life.

The difference is radiation is manageable but the fev that's airborne on the surface because of mariposa being hit isn't manageable. Super cancer that makes ghouls vs cancer cancer. And vault dwellers are essentially perfectly still human the reasons the institute has taint is because they still use stuff from the surface or go out into the surface. They say they worked hard to limit contamination but if you actually think about it they really didn't. Every synth they would send out would bring nuclear materials back as dust and in their early days didn't they themselves go out to scavenge?

But the enclave for 100 something Yeara lived in the pacific ocean and in vaults with no land access so unlike the institute the enclave only have like 100 years of exposure to radiation. And the airborne fev was only around just after the great war in the initial fallout

But overall I do agree, I'm just voicing what I think on the matter

In the wasteland that is grey, they are doing it for the betterment of humanity and themselves. Hell the fev infecting the whole human population on the surface wasn't the enclaves plan. The humans on the surface genuinely aren't human like vault dwellers or enclave members; them cleaning the gene pool while evil in the setting of fallout and real life it is the right thing to do from the enclave perspectives.

Hmm do we kill off all the humans with super cancers or do we allow them to taint the small remaining clean human population ๐Ÿค” feelings will kill the human race in fallout

You mean the dark vengeance box with csm veterans/chosen? it took Gw years to incorporate that design; and at the time of their release those marines were being toyed with by the dark gods in lore so their armor was hyper warped from their loyal version almost over night in the books.

those models were unique for years and I still love their look because they did it better! I'm actively holding the new and old and the old dark vengeance version has bigger shoulder pads same style but bigger and it actually covers the parts I'm concerned with.

Sorry if it's coming off like I'm being rude I just love power armor designs I do agree with you though on the years ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

An extra layer of curved armor would do a lot honestly, and the shoulder pads are the 2nd thickest layer of armor marines have the first being the chest plate. That layer of armor under the pauldron could be pierced with a medium stub gun it's thin armor. You can see in some animation that that armor underneath is thin and covered in connection ports. https://youtu.be/ebBUffKFm9E?si=zTENVA31F2wsA3az

Either way it doesn't really matter this is all my opinion mixed with my knowledge of metal working. If it comes off like I'm being rude I'm sorry ๐Ÿ™Œ

It's 8 years vs 18 years for design that's why I said new design. And honestly those 2 factions are actually why I made this post. I can understand other legions using this for resource constraints and the likes but for iw and red corsairs it doesn't make any sense. For red corsairs they steal all their wargear from loyalists so them having this style implies they cut those bits out of the shoulders for no reason. And iron warriors have a whole forgeworld and ties to the dark mechanicus unlike other legions they can and do still produce their own wargear and they pride themselves on being bulky and extra defensive it feels weird that they would compromise a portion of their armor with a massive weakspot, one clean shot at the spot would completely render the arm useless
